Tak's Milestone: June, 2000

June 30, 2000 =Long Day... Still Holiday Weekend? |
"Perfect Storm" new movie this weekend... was perfect boring... nothing but disappointing...
After long day at work... man! too many issues to solve and clients never stopped calling me up! Went out to see that new movie... waste of money... really. Trust me.
Computer graphics were quite well... though, the screen play is not that good. Forget it.
Oh, I don't have much time to put up my announcement of going to Dallas today... though, I have lots of responses from colleagues. Some of them were really fun stuff to read. I will post all here sometimes over this weekend.
Tomorrow... moving to new place on Buford Hwy. Have I packed? Nope. Do I need to? Sure!
How can I complete all within tomorrow then???
Well, seems weather will be very cooperative over this July 4th weekend... Be happy! and I will report about new place later on. Stay tuned.

June 29, 2000 =Warren --- Worse Than John Rocker? |
My announcement is now out today... I was working only in the morning since I have to move to new place... well, big move is on this Saturday... though, I wanted to move some small stuff... so I took a half day off. Just before leaving the work, I sent out a message via email with my update... about announcement.I am sure that some of people have responded me right away... though, I didn't see any since I left. Will check those out tomorrow.
Funny thing... some of them didn't understand of my joke completely and came up to me, asking "So Tak, you decided not to go back to Japan, right?" Haha--- that's not exactly right.
What was my joke? Oh, I will post it in tomorrow's update. I didn't bring that copy with me. Hope that was at least entertaining... I related my update to softball.
<John Rocker@Braves> He seemed okay in NY tonight... pitched so-so and didn't take #7 train to ball park... great move! Don't trouble anyone anymore! Plus, Braves edged Mets by 6-4... great!
Then, I came to shock when checking Japanese paper on the Internet... Look at this...
His name is, I believe, Warren... American guy... pitcher for Lotte Marines of Chiba (near Tokyo)... he's same as John... closer of the team... Look what he's doing in that photo!!! He shoots the bird to opponent team's bench!
Since we don't have any culture doing that in public, it's not too bad as we see here in US. However, all of Japanese (except some elders, of course) do understand what the hell he's doing! No shit!
We need to deport that guy out of Japan... worse than me in US! haha---
I probably need to find out where in the US he's coming from... maybe Macon, GA (same as Rocker)?!?!
|
June 28, 2000 =Changed the Plan? |
Did you scratch your head when seeing me? For these two days... several people actually did! Ha! It was always funny to see that... That was pretty neat! Really! All right... there is a confusion here already for me. I was, up to today, told that I would stay in Dallas until the end of August. Today, my "trip" to Dallas is only 3-4 weeks long! There is a gap between US and Japan side in saying.
Maybe by tomorrow, I would be assigned to relocate to Dallas completely FOR GOOD! (hehehe)
So now I have possibility that I can come back to Atlanta for a while after Dallas... as far as I see FOR NOW! --- To be honest with ya'll, everything seems so tentative to me. At least to me.
Look at this way... I am the one to pack all personal stuff before going to Dallas... though, it's gonna be a whole new ball game if I have to come back to Atlanta for at least half month or so... right? What about my accommodation? I maybe ought not to sell my car, etc. Very confusing huh? Yes, very much.
Oh sorry for no update yesterday... I was quite pissed about this kind of confusion and part of the company wasn't cooperative with me... I stayed at work up to almost 11pm and came home so tired... no choice to do anything else but straight into bed... Had to rest. So I indeed forced myself stay away from computer. It was right decision.
Today... things didn't improve, apparently... and unfortunately. Not only myself but also Koji and my boss didn't have gotten time to even think about lunch. Really that bad. Until tonight's dinner at Chinese restaurant with friend of mine, I hadn't eaten anything since yesterday's lunch which was McDonald's. Wow, sounds like I keep losing weight? Sure hope so!
Anyway, come back and check this page out to see how really I am going to deal with this assignment. Maybe I should get better understand what to accomplish over there in Dallas, exactly...
Elian Gonzalez finally left for home? Really happened, huh! Well--- it's my turn now?
|
June 26, 2000 =Tak's Big Announcement! |
Wow... good stuff... my roommate hasn't cooked for me for a while... tonight we had dishes together for the 1st time after several months? Oh, that's right. Roommates are not supposed to cook something for me like that... right? I got it---.Announcement to make... it's about time, right?
Do you wanna hear it?
Do you really?
Are you sure?
All right... because you INSIST!!!
Oh by the way, this is only between friends and I, my, me, and myself... Announcement for internal affairs will be made tomorrow or so after given my boss' consent.
I am today appointed to move to Dallas, Texas. Mmm? Did you hear? Yes, Dallas, Texas. This is NOT permanent move... just temp. I will be assigned Japan Project over there in COE - Center of Excellence. Same place I visited early this month.
Will remain in Dallas until my visa - working permit - gets expired. That means I will be there until end of August. So I stay for a month and half, then. Will live in hotel for that period of time.
I guess, I am only the personnel who has nothing to do everyday in the organization --- Plus, Japan didn't want me right away... Sorry, Tak's fans in Japan (approx. 2500 people nationwide)!!! Just wait for me a bit longer!!! I will be with you in a minute!
Well... Company finally found out that I didn't do anything everyday... I guess, it was about time.
In my personal opinion, I don't think I can complete that mission (impossible?) within the predetermined time. It's just short in time for me to deal with all as assignment. What would happen if I don't complete the task???
They may send me to Antarctica...
Those who are Fritz personnel and who happen to read this, please send me a signal in scratching your head when seeing me. Otherwise, please don't tell anyone about this announcement yet. My boss will give me a okay to tell about this in public.
Am I excited? Don't know. It is just too quick in move and I really don't have time to catch up with all that in feeling. Also, I have some resistance about getting the task complete within that time. I may need more time.
And most importantly, I don't want to be sent to Antarctica...
I am going to make a big joke on my announcement... have an idea already... Do you remember of my last joke about my decision of going back to Japan? If not, I hereby give you a quote again:
Dear friends/coworkers/buddies or whatever you name it:As some of you have been patient for my final decision toward future, I would like to thank you for your concern. I have been very grateful about those people who kept asking me what I was going to do after Koji -new guy at here- took my responsibility fully... which is about to happen. As a result of talk with Mr. Ishii - Managing Director of Fritz Japan... I made a deal last Thursday. I will be in Tokyo office, Fritz Japan, from this summer. In other words, I will be remining under current duties until around June (NOT real TGOH date have been set yet - "TGOH"date= Tak's GET-OUT-HERE date or formally said, "LAST DAY").
So I let you know that I am really leaving...(later on) as some people's dream come true! No need to call INS (Immigration and Naturalization Services) anymore! Don't call INS for now anyway... they are busy dealing with Elian (Gonzales)... no time for anyone else... Those who concern about Fritz softball team, I should be able to complete the current season with ya'll. Well... I still do have quite some time to be around you... I will have fun with you like I always do! See you around!!
Sincerely,
-Tak
DISCLAIMER: The order of email addresses in "TO:" section has nothing related to my preference or anything. Please avoid a discussion whom I put ahead, top, bottom, and back of whom, etc. I am not responsible for anything like that!
Count on me about a big joke! I really will make you laugh! See ya.
|
June 25, 2000 =Me, Myself and Irene? |
Weekend is now over (sounds Brit!) --- did ya'll have fun? Did you join the gay parade in downtown Atlanta? I was thinking about it since it must have been interesting... though, I passed this year. You know, without having girlfriend... last thing to happen is to turn around the sexual orientation --- like turn out to be a gay so that I can find a partner more easily... Though, I didn't take that risk this time.
Oh, don't get me wrong here, will ya? I am PRETTY DAMN STRAIGHT! I am just kidding writing about it. Got it?
Didn't do much today. Just one movie. It was "Me, Myself and Irene" by Jim Carrey. It was very funny and... man! There were lots of dirty jokes... I don't know whether you can stand this or not... Lots of Black jokes. If you think about going to see this movie, just read the preview from some media... so that you can have better judgment. You might regret if not done so before going. Language is EXTREMELY strong!
Did I like it? Hell, ya! I liked it. I give a B+ to this movie...
Actress, Renee Zellweger, was pretty cute not only from this movie also from Jerry Maguire.
If you have any opinion, questions, suggestion... please leave your comment in my message board area. So far, I haven't got any message regarding to movie. If you get a chance, drop a few lines, will ya?!
ICQ - Tak's primary messaging software... I just downloaded latest version 2.0 --- Sorry, Kim (Phillips)! I have been off from that program. Now back on business! I shall talk to you on line shortly.
American Express Card... my last month's usage was less than $600?!?! Wow, where else did I spend my money the most?
Oh, at the same time, I got big bulks to pay for VISA card on my car maintenance fees.
See ya'll tomorrow.
|
June 24, 2000 =Where in the hell Has Tak Gone --- ??? |
All right, all right, all right... I am back! Back on line! You got that?! Yesterday, I took a "day off" from being on line. I needed it. I wanted it. I deserved it. Got it?Some readers (or my friends, so-called) emailed and called me about no update... "Where the hell has Tak gone?" I am simply hiding myself from them. I need to stay mysterious... so that ya'll will be more curious. Right? HAHA.
Some other readers emailed me and asked, "How was your lunch date?" --- Man! people are so nosy about how I do everything!!! (well, I guess I made them so nosy about my life since I opened this site?! - Maybe)
Anyway, I need to emphasize that I took a girl --- 17 years old, for a lunch. If there were something in there, that would be a crime!!! At least I thought so. I then took Brittany who recently graduated from high school to Ruby Tuesday for lunch... I had to made an efforts to make that time since Fridays were usually busy and at that time there was no exception.
"Date" (since you wanted me to call it so--- rather than good friend of mine) was okay... had lots of talk and it was fun and stress-relief for me. Funny thing... when she was taking look at menu, she said "looks good" not on food but on drinks! Wow, she's UNDER AGED... supposed NOT TO KNOW anything about those kind of drinks. Obviously, she's done something which she shouldn't have in the first place. Then, now she's going to college from this summer. Stays in dorm... mmm that's not good!
Since spending an hour over lunch... I had to catch up all afterwards... at the end, I stayed in the office up to 8:30pm... too bad as at Friday night.
Oh, June 23rd... was my Dad's birthday... he turned 59!!! I thought he was a bit younger than that... In fact, I called him and told him, "Happy Birthday" and also informed him that my plan had been changed --- probably going home around September.
His reaction? Not really any there... maybe it was too early morning to talk to him, he seemed that he didn't want to talk to me.
Today --- the 24th, Bamian called me up and told me that my friends would hold a BBQ party. I told him that I would show up if I could. Did I? Nope. I just went out "SECRETLY" and didn't tell any of friends about it.
You know what? They ended up with calling me to check where I was!!! I told them that I was at coffee shop in Buckhead. Bad thing in there was my roommate yk110 was joining them and told them that I wasn't home! Man, I didn't know my roommate was acting like spy. It's my private life!!! It is only my business, not anyone else's, about where, when, and with whom I go out. Apparently, I was wrong.
Hey, leave me a lone! I don't have much time left being in US! I can go out with whoever I like, right?! Please...
Anyway, what I did then was just a movie and coffee. That was it. Nothing hurts... The movie I saw was "SHAFT" by Samuel L. Jackson. Did I like it? Answer: YES. Story was based on some crazy situation... corruption over corruption. Is NYPD that messed up? HAHA.
I give a B+ to this movie. Kind too short, I thought. It was 1 hour and 30-some minutes. Could be longer... Too much shooting? That's okay. it is NY!!!
I like that kind of unique character... since I am not ordinary person? Maybe. Shaft was human being before cop. I liked it. It was very simple.
All right... half of the weekend is over. What should I do tomorrow? No plan whatsoever. Will see.
Oh, don't call me to my cellular phone if you have nothing to talk about! Don't call me EVER just to check on me like that!!!
Seeeeeee ya.

June 22, 2000 =Back in Town --- |
Back in town --- Man, that was too quick. You know what? I liked making trip by myself. It was certainly fun... because of its flexibility, maybe.Woke up around 6:15am... unusually slept well. When I go on any trip, I usually don't have to sleep much... I guess, I simply don't want to be late to meeting, etc. Anyway, I went bed night before like 1am... watching free movie... I chose "Reindeer Game" which wasn't good at all, I regret. I then went bed without finishing that movie! (well, it was free anyway, right?)
Ate breakfast... in the lounge. This is unusual, too. I normally don't eat anything for breakfast... I know, it is bad. Then wrapped all up and checked out. I saw the green Chevy SUV... (I thought it was Blazer) and a lady in front of lobby. It was Anne who was going to attend to the meeting with me. She's District Manager of the Company in Charlotte. So she gave me a ride to client's place...
On the way to that place, we had a lot of talk... it was actually fun! Did I know her? Nope. I first-met her because of this meeting. Man, I should go to Charlotte to work for her, rather than Jay or my boss, right?! HAHA-
Meeting with client... tons of homework given to me. SHOOOT. I am too busy to deal with current issues; I really don't think that I can make some time for doing homework. What discourages me doing so is... we found that clients were not really aware how to cooperate with us to make thing work... They were relatively new! So meeting was quite informing... or educational. I really did expect something much more productive...
Anyway, it was okay. Actually, I talked a lot as I were presiding the entire meeting. You know, I am quiet person in general... because of biz, I have to push myself to be a bit aggressive or so... don't you agree?! (SURE!)
Meeting lasted way longer than expected... done by 11:30am... time for me to hit back to airport!!! I've got a flight leaving 1:30pm for Atlanta... If I missed, it would be very chaotic... since 2 following flights were totally booked out... I knew that thing and then I would have ended up with 9:30pm flight!!! Of course, I didn't want to let that happen.
Kindly Anne offered me to have lunch with... which of course, I wouldn't hesitate to say yes under normal circumstances. Though, I had to face a bit of reality... "Did I spend next 5-6 hours in airport, sticking with cellular and laptop?" "Should I even spend a night over here?!" The answer was too obvious. I chose the way to come back. Of course, how much Koji got swamped at that time was another concern (you know, how much nice guy I am!).
So unfortunately, asked Anne to drop me off at the airport. Didn't have any problem to catch that flight. It was packed!
Thank you for everything, Anne.
Same thing on the way to Charlotte out of Atlanta... airports were packed everywhere... I guess, it is really in peak season since summer vacation time and kids are out of schools.
Trip was really shorrrrt. Made me really tired because of its tight schedule and I, no doubt, had to work intensively after back in office --- Cannot wait for this weekend!
Tomorrow, once again, my boss will be out... out to Myrtle Beach! For biz? Of course... though, things won't get done on table. NOT even under table. Simply on GREEEEEN! (HA)
My roommate yk110 got already another problem with new roommate... I forgot her name. Man, another problem?!?! So hectic... for her. I don't really care much since I don't involve in anything with them. I simply get out there for work and come home for sleep (ALONE!).
You know, sometimes, living with 2 females doesn't mean anything (I am sure that it does mean something SOMETIMES --- no my case here).
This time, new roommate is old Japanese lady... way older than yk110. Problem is that she doesn't have a car... so yk110 has to help her out to go somewhere every time. Wait, that's too much! yk110 said would kick her out soon --- don't know if happens soon or not.
10:20pm for now? That's early as I am writing for this update! Oh maybe, I can go for chat again --- like last night.

June 21, 2000 =from Charlotte (North Carolina) with Love?! |
Staying in Hampton Inn, Charlotte Airport... I have to attend to a meeting tomorrow morning and my boss couldn't make it this time... so I came by myself. Tomorrow's meeting is a bit scary because my client recently hired some yanks company to advise doing better biz... (i.e. consultant) seemed darn hectic for me to deal with...Left the office to airport around 4:30pm... flight was operated as scheduled... arrived in Charlotte around 6:30pm... before taking courtesy van to this hotel, I decided to eat. Didn't have much variety to choose from in that airport... so I ate in at Chili's. Today's beer was "Carolina Blonde" --- Didn't like it much... tasted like Bud. I prefer Michelob! (haha)
Throughout this short trip from Atlanta to Charlotte, I saw about 5 businessmen using Palm computers! Of course, no one else's looked like mine!
After diner --- on the way to accommodation, I was waiting for a van from hotel... waiting and waiting and waiting... ended up with waiting for 40 minutes. I wasn't upset... I was tired... When I talked to van driver (old lady), she apologized for delay and everything... Then at lobby for check-in, same lady came up and served me to confirm reservation and gave me a key card... plus, she gave me a free movie because of that inconvenience. Wow! (she was supervisor)
I better finish this up quickly and see a movie... is any dirty one here? (BANG!)
Checking emails... soon getting in this room... happened to click "ICQ" and found that Osmara in Mexico was there... of course, chatted with her for a while in Spanish. I haven't done any chat like that for a long time... it was nice talking to her for sure! Te quiero mucho, Osmara!
Too bad that I couldn't continue for a long time... I've got a homework to do... My boss asked me to email him a report within tonight so that he would be able to have conference with it... so I have to write pretty decent, pretty damn long email describing what happened for past 2 weeks. Too much problems!
Robyn --- what happened? Await for your email...
Of course, I returned Whitney CD's to Brenda... made copies within last night.
I am already sleepy... you know, I was up around 4am thru 5am to get report about some cargoes... made me being so sleepy... Oh actually I slept in flight... though didn't recover completely...
Today's lunch --- Koji and I went to Chick-fil-A and saw several ex-Fritz's people: Carrie Wallace, Kristi Wall, and Tessa Seiber...
That's it for tonight. Tomorrow, I will be back in town... around 4pm. My update resume as normal from Atlanta... See you later then!
|
June 20, 2000 =Whitney's Greatest Hits! |
People in the office seemed to be happy in getting my update, which I had to stay in US (with them) for a longer time. Lots of people in fact gave me feedback like that. Am I going to be missed? Hope so. I like people in the office and want them to miss me when leaving so that I really would feel that I was a part of them...
Brenda@Switch Board let me borrow her CD, "Whitney, The Greatest Hits" this afternoon. I was listening that music around 6:30pm when I really fed up with all what happened today.
Apparently, I am about to running out of all energy struggling against stress which have been accumulated for several months.
Anyway back to that music, Whitney Houston's best album sounds so great!!! (2 CD's enclosed) You know what? I am burning CD's on the desktop Macintosh for this moment (ooops, don't call police for violating copy rights!)
Had many hot shipments to take care of... taking all day long. Koji must be fed up with tiring situation... He checked all biz up to midnight tonight and I take care of all rest which is the deal at 4am tomorrow morning!
Tonight, I am typing this on my laptop (while, desktop is making duplicates of music CD's)... yes, I will be out of town (whenever I transfer ogaki.net data to my laptop)... to Charlotte, NC. I've got a meeting to join in Thursday morning and I cannot miss. So I take a flight... costing me a bit more than $400.00!
I am so happy that there were a few people writing in on my message board!!! I had been so concerned about the possibility which no one would write anything ever...
Moreover, someone in Australia came to my web site?! That's wonderful. My "ogaki.net" hasn't been registered to many major search engines such as Yahoo or Lycos yet. I feel like I should've done so much long time ago...
Please, please join me on the Board so that I can feel comments or thoughts about this page even more closely... Any kind of topic is welcome! I have put up a topic talking about recent movies... This must be helpful to kick things off.
Debbie Dial (female, African-American) is leaving us?! I heard that shocking news from her directly... I know, things in our office ain't always the best... though, every time having farewell like this isn't great thing... Debbie whom I always call "honey" or "sweetie" ... she's not gonna be around from next month... Will miss you, sweetie.
Can I really stay up around 4am? Doubt about it... (my cellular phone will ring!)
Zzzzzz....
|
June 19, 2000 =Extending My Plan... and Kojak Story |
Ooooooops, what happened? My plan about going back to Japan has been a bit changed... As many of you know, my last day at current position was at the end of month... which was in 2 weeks or so... now it is NOT so anymore.Company put a request on me to stay with Company a bit longer... so I will keep working as I do for now and there is no ETA (when I really leave the Company) determined. ETA? = "Estimated Time of Arrival." I am sure that you know of it.
My boss was out all day long until Wednesday morning... so it was pretty clam while he was out and Koji and I worked as hard as we usually do!
Koji --- recently I found an interesting thing... There is a Japanese guy transferred to company in NC from Japan... His first name was Koji, same as my coworker. He nicknamed himself as Kojak like Inspector Kojak, a famous TV series. When I first heard about his name, it really cracked me up so badly. Because I knew of that TV drama. Soon after that, I asked that person who informed me about it, "Is he bald?" --- she told me that he'd still got some "limited" amount of hair on top of his head... Then, someone in that company - my customer - brought a box of lollipops because, as you may know, Inspector Kojak always sucked one kind of candy... so it was irony... Though, that Japanese person didn't get it since he seemed didn't know much about it.
I told her then, "I should do the same thing when visiting your office next week (which is now this Thursday) and only a difference I can make from past incident would be that I can explain all about it in Japanese!"
Of course, I really made her laugh...
Story doesn't finish by here. You know, I've got a coworker Koji too. Why don't I call him Kojak too?!?! Why really not? I really announce hereby that his official nickname in the office is nothing but Kojak.
You want to see how the real TV character Kojak looked like? See ---> HERE!
I, probably because of weekend's drinks, felt a bit tired and felt funny about my stomach. I left work like 6:30-ish and came home thereafter. Then, hit straight to bed for sleep. Now I feel better, though I still need something --- like medicine.
Talked an old friend of mine... over the phone for almost several hours... Wow, that was really something --- made me feel a bit bitter about my plan. Couldn't believe that I'd had that much things to talk about. My friend was doing well and I was quite happy in listening to that.
Oooops, I missed the supper. Now past midnight... cannot eat anything anymore. I usually set a time line that I don't eat anything after 10pm (except going-out occasions).
<NBA> Lakers won the whole season? Lakers are the CHAMP!!! Too bad, I didn't care much about it.
How about Braves? I recently don't keep up with who they are doing... I should check the newspaper!
See you tomorrow then! Bye.

June 18, 2000 =Golf and Biz Dinner |
This Sunday wasn't ordinary one... had to play golf with VIP people in Lake Lanier Island from early morning... 'til late afternoon. My score? Forget about it! I shot 111 today... actually beating the VIP from Japan who were at 115!I liked that place so much... very nice and very nice lake view in there... though, too much water to trouble me and actually it did. I donated more than several balls to Lake Lanier today... Do fish eat that kind of stuff? Just curious.
Trouble wasn't only about water... my swing itself. I couldn't hit any good shot off the tee unlike Tiger (Woods who just won 100th US Open). I really do need to figure out what goes wrong and practice more in order to get higher accuracy in hitting balls.
After golf... came home for rest... like 2 hours or so. Then showed up in the Restaurant Fujita on Jimmy Carter Blvd. for biz dinner.
Tons of good food (sushi, etc.) and tons of drinks! Man, since Friday, I still keep drinking... mainly beer and Japanese SAKE (rice wine). I am sure that I ate the most tonight... didn't hesitate to ask more and more and kept eating... with no attentions to what they were talking about (of course, it was about biz).
My roommate, Yuko, was moved out to somewhere else (unknown)... so my Melrose Place story is now over!
No movies for this weekend. No fancy dinner for this weekend. No hot date for this weekend... nothing nothing and nothing! Only thing around me was drinks! (haha)
Already new week... don't feel much so and I know, this week gets more even hectic to work with... Hope I don't have to keep drinking tomorrow on like this... That's right, my boss will be out until Wednesday! Plus, I will be spending a night in Charlotte, NC at Wednesday night since I have to show up to a meeting there in Thursday morning.
Busy... again.
All right... time to go to bed... have a good dream, folks!
|
June 17, 2000 =Dinner, etc. |
Tak's Saturday... a bit NAP time in the afternoon... It was relaxing and stress-relief... truly.Actually, yk110 took me to house tour where we are moving at the end of month! We're moving to Buford Hwy... still a mile far from where we currently live.
House (oh, didn't take any pictures!) was small... though very neat. I liked it. Though, I feel so troublesome... since I am going back to Japan in a month or so! Why I need another move?!?!
Anyway, that's what yk110 decided... so I follow.
That tour was done by 12:45pm and took that big nap afterwards...
Woke up around 4pm! (big sleep!) --- realized that I was supposed to go to Bamian's apartment for dinner party (of course for drinks!).
In hurry... had to go to grocery shopping... to buy some drinks since it was potluck party... and stopped by a Chinese restaurant to take our some dishes to bring with.
I forgot to get some golf balls for tomorrow; so I had to make an extra stopping for that, too. Yes, I am going to play "FREE" golf because of business!!! (What a pleasant surprise!)
Dinner... yesterday's members were there, of course not all of them. Tak, Bamian, Tom2bwu, Kirk and one more... Yoshiko who didn't come last night's party.
Wait a minute... so I keep partying?! Am I now party animal? Maybe just for this weekend. There were sushi, BBQ pork, sashimi (raw fish), and other dishes... with tons of, TONS of drinks! At the same time, we were watching US Open Golf on TV too. Man, Tiger (Woods) was killing!!! He was so good!
Got a call from boss around 10:30pm confirming of tomorrow's golf. I have to wake up early to make that tee time... which must be around 8am! Man, I had to leave them right away in order to get things (on the web) done and get some sleep!
Well, hope I play well tomorrow... it is making me a big nervous... because I have to play with big boss from Japan as well as with clients. Playing golf with them takes place in Lake Lanier area...

June 16, 2000 =Social Gathering @ 3 Dollar Cafe in Buckhead |
Wonderrrrrrrful! English version of Ogaki-jin has reached to another milestone... 1000 hit! SO GREEEEEEEAT!
Who got it? I give you a clue... someone in my office who has nothing much to do all day long every single day... And in my opinion, he flirts most in the office. I am sure that you can come up with only one name... one name only (if you work for Fritz Atlanta... of course) --- Jonathan Forrester!!!
He came by my desk... around 9am this morning... said to me, "Just come by my desk!" I at that time didn't quite get it. I really thought that he's just downloaded awesome nude photo or something... I was wrong. I was so wrong... he hit the 1000th hit on my English page! Cool!
He, no doubt about, asked me what the prize would be. You know what? I haven't decided it yet. I will consider of who got it and I decide the suitable item as for prize to Jonathan. Just bear with me for a moment, Jonathan!
From 7:30pm tonight... I organized another off-line meeting... All friends met thru the Internet... Meeting over Internet is "on-line." This time we meet actually in person... That is "off-line." Got it?
Off meeting took place in Three Dollar Cafe, Buckhead. Attendance: Tak, yk110, Kirk, Tom2bwu, Foyer, Bamian... and 2 more who were totally new... Prince_Goro (Male) and Tama (female) --- total 8 people.
"Oh, don't steal my boy (friend)!" by Bamian for Prince_Goro
"Let me give him a kiss as proof of my love!"
Then, Bamian cheats on him so quickly ---
Bamian shares a drink with Tak like that!!!
"Peace by Tama" and "Oh, don't throw me a bone here, but punch!"
Then lastly...
This cute lady... named Melissa Holland working at this Cafe and served us tonight. She was very very (let me add one more) very cute (I am so sure that she's taken!) --- Look at me, I am so happy being same picture of hers! (hehe)Did I give her my number? Well... I gave her this web site address...
The party was so fun and I felt really saved from stress on job... This week was pretty bad and no good news... so at least I had a great time with my fellows as well as that above picture!
Man, what a way to start my weekend off!!! "I feel good!" ---
|
June 15, 2000 =My Bro's Birthday |
Very very exhausted. Too much stuff to do and I obviously cannot keep up with all! I now want to throw everything away...Today, 6/15 --- my brother's birthday. He's now 29 years old... he lives in Tokyo for this moment, having his wife with no kids. What is he doing? He is working for whole sale company... he is sales man. He practically sell anything virtually possible --- at least he told me so before. Selling cars, computers, pipes, plastic raw material... anything.
He's 29 now? Has been 10 years after he left Ogaki - our home town... that is really long.
He played baseball like myself. He is in fact way better ball player (no bad throws!). When deciding to which high school to go to upon his graduation from middle school, he chose a school in next town, Gifu (State Capital). He did join the best high school baseball club in the State... just to play baseball (nothing else).
From that point throughout college, his life was concerning nothing but baseball.
Then, he got a job by current employer. Seemed very happy with it. Now married and his life seems much smoother than mine who struggles (?) ---
Anyway, happy birthday, bro!
The counter on the top of the page... Man! now more than 980... maybe over this weekend? You know, I am STILL offering prize on whoever gets the 1000th hit!!! You have to capture the screen shot by pressing "Print Screen" key and paste it to any drawing software such as "Paint Brush" which comes along with Windows by default. Just send me as attachment to claim the prize.
What's prize? I won't tell you yet. I will decide depending upon who it is. I give you a clue... A person who hit the 7777th hit on Japanese version of Ogaki-jin, I gave him a 2000 Sports Illustrated Swimsuits Calendar --- he was at my age, 26, at that time and not married yet. Funny, huh? If I determined prior to finding out who it was, this wouldn't be funny or anything. So you now understand.
Tomorrow is Friday... though I have an appointment on job at Sunday night... over dinner. So this weekend seems shorter than usual --- I am sure that you always feel that every past weekend seemed so short... this time, I would feel even shorter than that. Well, think this way, at least I get free food (probably Japanese) and drinks (right?).
All right. This is it for tonight. Oh, tomorrow night, I got a gathering in Three Dollar Cafe in Buckhead from around 7:30pm... If you need me, that's where to look for.
Shit! Susan Peppers quite the job today... I didn't get a chance to give her a hug and to say good-bye. Gee... I was so busy around the time she was leaving and I didn't realize about it... Damn it!
|
June 14, 2000 =Job --- What can I do? |
I forgot to take several pictures today... first of all, I didn't take a picture of the trophy for the 3rd place of the softball season. Another thing... it was Dawn Lynch's birthday... yah, big one... big three-zero. Her office was full of decoration for such life time cerebration... should have gone back to her office to take pictures!Happy Birthday, Dawn! (she'll be on vacation from tomorrow)
I went in office around 8am and my work got done around 8:30pm tonight. All are okay? I sure hope so (probably not really). Too much work... period.
What else should I talk about? I truly don't have many things to tell for tonight... what a night!
Oh, do you know my Palm Pilot? The blue case with translucent cover? Yah, I recently changed the cover from orange to clear... The Visor by HandSpring, Palm compatible handheld computer --- recently being sold at CompUSA... now "FINALLY" arrived in Japan! Yes, Japanese version Visors will be available in market from this Friday!
Am I going to buy one? To be honest with you, I keep thinking about it. Though, it is not Visor. I don't like one thing. I really do like 5 different colors available. However, this handheld don't have option to put cover. In other words, you have to put it in the leather case or something. I really do like the convenience of action like taking it out of the pocket and write stuff on it right away. If not cover, I have to concern about scratching the screen and if putting it in the case, it's not quick motion anymore to start using it.
You got it?
Oh I have to leave something... my Mom in NC should be really proud of me... I was in the kitchen before facing to this computer screen! You know what I was doing, right? Cooking!!! --- not really. Sorry to disappointing ya! I was, in fact, washing dishes since my roommate yk110 fixed some dishes for supper of 2 people.
Maybe next time.
Yah, I better explain... there are tons of people (mostly my friends and family) desperate to make me be able to cook. Since I moved in this place (1583 Imperial Court), no one has seen me cooking a bit. When living by myself in Jonesboro (607 Chase Lake Drive), I cooked a bit. I even have shown a picture of my dish! So I did a bit of cooking before.
Though, people around myself really want me to cook so that I can help my future-wife or so that I can get a girlfriend more easily and more instantly because men who can cook is nowadays somehow somewhat attractive --- whatever heck they are thinking.
Well, at least it wasn't bad that I know how to wash dishes!
John Rocker --- just came back from minors in 6 days... came on the mound and almost blew everything in the game at the 9th inning tonight. He pitched 6 and all were balls. All right, send him back to minors again! What a holly shame.
I need to get up early... nowadays, I am in the office before 8am... since tons of things to do every darn single day... of course, they are all troublesome. Koji is surely working hard... hard to death... still the situations are out there to be taken care of. Man, it is endless world.
One more thing... I changed a bit about this page (whole site, I mean). Used be... Japanese version came up when typed in as "www.ogaki.net" --- changed it. Some readers using Internet Explorer 5 must have had a tough time to figure out how to read my page. Why? Because the 1st page was in Japanese, IE5 automatically downloads multi-language kit in order to see those Japanese characters and users don't know what computer was processing... Now front page of this entire domain is nothing but gateway where you can select your language to read/see so that there is no confusion situation. Hope this clears up a little bit about how to catch Tak on line. HEHE -
Anyway, I need to rest. See you tomorrow.
|
June 13, 2000 =Last Softball Game in US! |
Some people think that Tak will get a beer belly... since consecutively drinking everyday. NOT TONIGHT! And played hard in the last softball game here in US!!! (in tears)
Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 T Fritz 2 4 0 6 3 - 15 True Value 0 1 1 0 3 - 5
Wow... We reserved another victory closing the season! True Value got the 2nd place and Team Fritz came up to the 3rd place!!! (We've got a trophy!) --- will take a picture of it tomorrow in the office then.
Here's "Memorial Lineups":
- Tak (3B)
- Misty - fiancee of Jay's, Kristi Hart's brother (SS)
- Calvin (LCF)
- Cindy - non-Fritz (1B)
- Dan (2B)
- Angie - ex-Fritz! <Ocean Export> (RCF)
- Tim (P)
- Leslie - Billy's wife (LF)
- Billy (RF)
- Karen (C)
I am so glad that we did win the game! I didn't want to finish my softball career with losing the game! Ending up with the 3rd place isn't bad at all!
How did I do? In fielding... didn't do anything. Nothing, nada, zip! I didn't catch any balls... simply no one hit the ball to me!
Batting result --- 1st = Double to Left, 2nd = Single to Left (2 RBI's), 3rd = Single to Center, and last at bat, 4th = Single to Center!
Yes, I did well... not great hits... though, results were very positive and contributed well to the team! 4 for 4!
The season total: 27 for 34! The average of .794!!! (pretty good)
After the game, some players from other teams in the league came up to me (I had no idea what their names were) and said, "Good luck in Japan - Nice to playing with ya!" Well, of course, I was familiar with them only in faces... since we all were regular player in this league for 3 years or so.
Man! That was it? I still have another month in States... though my softball career is now over!
About this, I am extremely sad --- when I started working in the current position, I very soon afterwards joined the Fritz softball... so my memory of softball is as much as my professional career in Fritz! I played with lots of different people who are now not with us. Lots of funny thing happened...
I give you a good example... Renee (kind crazy girl used to work with me) were playing catcher in the game (about 2 years ago) and she asked me if okay with me for her to put her panty in my glove bag... I said yes... don't recall why... I thought she meant a joke--- or something.Yes, this really happened!Anyway, it was such great fun and now it's my precious memory about playing softball with Fritz people. It was such great pleasure of mine to share my time with you, folks!
Oh, I shouldn't forget to take a picture of trophy tomorrow. If you read this at your desk in the office, please remind me! (hehe)

June 12, 2000 =Sushi! |
How was your start off of the week? Mine... was not really pleasant. I am still drunk as of now... man! how many days in a row I have drinks? Oh, of course except "HOLLY" Sunday when I didn't drink at all. Wednesday... at Braves' game, Thursday night in Korean Restaurant with visitor from Japan, Friday with cutie girls of American Pie in the evening, Saturday with Robyn and Mom for special mixed drinks, (Sunday - no drinks) and Today = Monday at sushi bar!Today's milestone:
- (2am - go to bed)
- 6am - wake up - only 4 hours of sleep
- 7:30am - in office, start working (usually from 9am)
- 10:30am - visitors from Philippines... serving coffee!!!
- 2pm - lunch... by Chick-fil-A --- thanks to Noy brought lunch back for me
- 5:30pm - supposed to leave the office (on time)
- 6:30pm - should be leaving the office
- 7pm - ought to be getting out there
- 7:30pm - finally go out of the office
- 8pm - sushi dinner with Foyer
Yup, I've got a 12 hour work today... am so tired. Did the biz go well? Not really. Just was so swamped checking lots of things out.
Yes, sushi dinner tonight. Yah, raw fish stuff!!! (Would you like it?) Foyer invited me for a dinner since I helped his family before and he hadn't repaid me so far.
You know, when someone make an offer, I never hesitate (my gate is always wide open!). I really did eat tons of sushi tonight. Where did we go? Since Foyer lives in southern part of Atlanta, we went to "Momoya" restaurant, nearest Japanese restaurant from the office.
Major League Baseball --- Sosa @ Cubs is moving to Yanks? Wow!!! I don't want to see him playing in that team. He doesn't look like a Yankee!!! Why not coming to Braves? We need another good player in lineups.
John Rocker pitched well in minors? Who cares?! hehe -
My boss will be out of office for two days... gone to North Carolina with those visitors from Philippines. OOOOOPS, I forgot that I also need to be at a meeting in Charlotte area on 22nd. I probably will fly and spend a night right before the day of meeting.
It's 12:40am... late huh?
Let me close this for tonight... kind short... but I am tired. Plus, not much to talk about tonight... because I am, MAYBE, drunk and cannot think well.
Thanks to Foyer who bought me a dinner, I really ate all sushi kinds I liked and I was full with full of drinks ("Asahi Super Dry").
Oh, tonight's TV show "Blind Date" on channel 36 --- "Blind Date in Hotlanta!" What kind of places blind dates go? Must be highland area... right? (yah, baby! Yah!)
<from the show> No shit!!! Guy did take a girl to Gentlemen's Club in Downtown... He was totally out of "IT." Then, girl's leaving the guy from the bar, of course! I would never ever done that... What kind of guy is this? Then, she was upset and guy asked "Oh, we're still friends, right?" No way, Jose!
You know, I can do much better than that!
Let me go to bed...
|
June 11, 2000 =Back from North Carolina! |
Hello, fellows! Hope you had a good weekend under nice weather! And... sorry for no update yesterday. I was on Internet around 12am thru 1am... FTP (File Transfer Protocol) wasn't functioning properly... tried several times to download a necessary files from "ftp.ogaki.net" --- didn't work at all. So I gave up! Should've transfer all data from desktop to laptop prior to the trip, I regret.Anyway, it became such short weekend for me! Though, I really had fantastic time with my American family in Waynesville, North Carolina.
Saturday morning... woke up later than planned! Didn't have a hang over, though. Just slept well, I would say. So I packed quickly and hit the road... it was 10am. Usually, it takes me to get there about 3 hours... or even more depending on traffic. That time, it only took me about 2 hours and a half! I was HOME around 12:30pm and kind surprised my sister Robyn and Mom by early arrival.
June 8th... it was Robyn's birthday! (Happy Birthday, gal!) --- main reason to make a trip was of course for my dearest sister... Plus, I haven't seen her for almost a year! So she turned... ooops, I didn't get permit to talk about her age! So I should NOT disclose it yet at this point (pardon me!). Of course, you can guess how old she looks like... Clue? She's a bit younger than me who turned 18 last April! (haha)
As you know, she's getting married to a prince from Columbia (Of course, it's figure speech, okay! He doesn't have a title as prince of the country). The wedding seems taking place in September... I will be coming from Japan to attend and to WITNESS that she really gets married. One thing I learned... about American wedding... I saw the catalogue of wedding dress and I asked her if I could put up a photo copy of her wedding dress on here... so that ya'll could see what kind of dress it was... though, the answer was NEEEEE... According to Robyn and Mom, gloom wasn't supposed to see the dress until the ceremony. In fact, bride must hide her dress up to the time when she walks on the aisle!!! This is totally new for me to learn about American way. Japanese way? Usually, as far as I know, a couple go out together to choose the dress for wedding!
Therefore, sorry folks! No picture of wedding dress of hers. Well, if you keep turning this www.ogaki.net, you can see exclusive coverage of her wedding in September!!! (Don't touch that "favorite" or "bookmark!!!")
For her birthday, we went out to Asheville, one of top 5 towns in the nation as best place to live after retirement. Robyn had a friend to meet for movie... so we went to see "Gone in 60 seconds" by Nicholas Cage. According to Yahoo Movie, the movie seemed to have beaten all other movies including M:i2 and hit the top spot of weekend box office sales. Did I like it? It was actually pretty darn good! liked it. I have to mention only one part I really did mind about... car jumped over the bridge... that was too much without reality... Otherwise, it was good one for fun!
I give a B to this movie!
We met 2 guys at the theater... Jesus (Mexican) and Tim originally from California. We 4 saw the movie together and went to Applebee's for dinner.
They both were church people. Funny thing... when we had a prayer at the table, a guy (believe, Manager!) came along to the table and "How's everything?" He obviously didn't look at us at all and just said it at loud... which really cracked me up!
Dinner was fine and conversation was pleasant. Plus, Robyn got a free sundae from the restaurant...
Then hit home. Mom was already home and we had a drink together... talking about many different things... marriage, etc. (I cannot cover all since this page is rated as PG-13!)
Today... Sunday... I woke up around 12pm! Ladies were gone to church... someone my room (downstairs) was really dark and couldn't realize what time it was! Anyway, it was nice to be home and rested so well like that. It was sort of luxury, really.
Had a lunch together... Mom made beef tacos... I really liked her Mexican stuff. I ate... how many? Don't' recall. I know I ate a lot and was really full for sure!
Stopping by to see Auntie living in the same town... chatted for a while... then, finally moved on... left the town like 4:40pm... The way coming back wasn't bad all at (I mean, how many cops out there --- kind clue!). I drove around 70-75 mph (somewhere 80...). I got home 7pm. Wow, it was only 2 hours and 20 mins away? I could visit them more than what I really had thought.
Well, when leaving the town, Mom persuaded me over coming back to see them every two weeks from now on... For sure to say, I most definitely go back to spend this kind of quality time with them before going to Japan!
Disappointedly, weekend is over, man! Hasta luego.
|
June 9, 2000 =Friday! Better Day Today? |
Weeeeeekend!!! Finally, I am in the weekend mode! In fact, I left work around 2pm since I've got a doctor's appointment. To do what in seeing a doctor? I just tried to find out whether I was pregnant or not! (yah, right....)Anyway, doctor's check up was done within an hour...
Did I go home straight? Nope. I went to Barnes and Noble to check some magazines since I haven't been any bookstore for such a long time. Did I buy anything? No.
Then, came to see Bamian and Foyer (friends of mine)... at American Pie (=bar on Rosewell Rd., just outside the perimeter I-285). Darn, how much did I drink? 1, 2, 3 bottles of beer... enough to get myself drunk... plus, 3 glasses of frozen margarita... way drunk tonight.
Those friends kept talking about nothing but me. Analyzing my personality and character... then consulted me how to approach to female friends! I am sure that they really talk about me somehow.
Then, Foyer picked up my cellular phone and started calling girl whose number was in the memory of my phone!!! Too bad that she wasn't available.
At the same time, I was sort scared in case she answered and agreed to show up to where we were. How should I deal with occasion? No clue! I definitely get intimidated.
It was my first visit to American Pie... I liked that place. I give a B- to the place. I felt like I came to Hooters' Restaurant since ladies wore bikini top with short pants (not all of them, though). I think food was much better than Hooters'
After American Pie... went to Malibu again (last visit: about a week ago). Went to batting practice since Foyer was very interested in doing so.
We tried to hit "fast" ball rather than "medium" which I did upon my last visit.
It was fast... I would say it was around 65-70mph. I still could hit those balls... so did Foyer and Bamian did well too.
Then watching Malibu Grand Prix thing... a big motorized semi-racing auto driving in the circuit. Most of people did make a round within 60 seconds. Some people even made 54 seconds. Did we participate? No. We just watched.
It was about 11:30pm when we came out the place... I ended up with a great fun tonight after getting really drunk. In the matter of fact, I did drink 3 days in a row! It must be exceeding my quota (when set?).
Hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend. Me? Leaving around 9am tomorrow to hit the road to Waynesville, North Carolina.
Will update this page from N.C. too. Don't turn that dial!
|
June 8, 2000 =Once Again Korean BBQ... after Hard Work! |
Que onda, ya'll?! (Hey! Don't even mix Spanish language with Southern "Ya'll" like that!!!) Man, today was long. Really long. Problem after problem... there seemed no end in this tunnel. Facing some possibility losing big clients... What can we make thing turn around? Good question... and there have been no answer and no solution. What I can do is doing all possible work precisely and promptly! (this isn't perfect answer yet, though)
Left work like 8pm... since we've got a visitor from Japan since yesterday... Koji and I had to take him out for dinner since boss was in Fabulous Fox Theatre to see something tonight.
We went to a Korean Restaurant on Buford Hwy. Don't know how to say that name in English... sorry, I missed checking that out! Will ask Koji and inform you here tomorrow.
You know what? That gotta be one of most recommended Korean restaurants in town! Trust me, fellow! It was really, really, really great! How much did we eat? I know, at least, I ate as much as possibly I could. Drink? Of course. Many bottles of Budwiser left empty on the table.
Visitor... Mr. Nakao --- Sales Manager. He was such enthusiastic character in talking about anything!!! I like the stuff he told me. He used to work in Germany for 4 years and told me his shocking incidents when going back to Japan afterwards. I was told many thing to expect and to prepare in going back to Japan this summer. It was such precious moment to communicate someone very nice like him.
Food was excellent and talk was very enjoyable. What should I complain? I cannot find the way to say anything negative about it. Today... work was extremely hectic. No good news in job... though, I feel like I regained the energy to work hard tomorrow and on.
He's staying until Saturday...
More visitors to be expected? Wow, not only the problems we've already got... some visitors will keep us even busier hereafter!
Hey, Brittany! (Ooops, personal attention, please!) --- Do not call me like what you did tonight. I was busy making presentation ready! I was so nice that I hanged around with you in talking for a while!
What did she do? She was bored at this evening... so called me more than 5 times with 1-2 rings each call. Just harassed me because she had nothing to do! Man--- I was very patient and nice to her, correct?!
Friday... TGIF! Thanks goodness. Oh, I will drink tomorrow night too (shooooot, I was supposed to determine where to go for drink tomorrow night... oooooops!) See ya!
|
June 7, 2000 =Toronto Blue Jays at Atlanta... |
Toronto Blue Jays at Atlanta... Like I said yesterday, I've got to go to the Braves game tonight. I was almost late to the game since the afternoon became quite messy in responding some urgent issues on job.Oh, happy birthday, Bob (Jackson)!!!
How was the game? Braves lost (not because of me!). The game was... not much interesting anymore when Toronto ensured its victory with a grand slam at the 5th. Braves' starting picture Milwood wasn't having much to throw tonight for sure, giving up 5 and 4 runs in the 1st and 5th inning respectively.
Although, Braves has more hits than Blue Jays... usually the team hitting better should get better chance to win the game... not tonight. Braves pitching staff was very efficient to give up some more runs that Braves themselves gained.
Would you like to see the recap of the game? Go here ---
Only the good thing thru the time in ballpark... climate! It was way more than perfect! Temperature is mild and some cool breeze... to comfort the fans (not by Braves, unfortunately).
How many cups of beer did I get? Why ya'll so curious whether I was or I was NOT drunk at time?! Huh... Anyway, I only had one. Just one, believe me! A huge hot dog with a cup of Bud Light did good job on me to feel great being out there!
Oh, cool baby! <- still drunk?
I called my sister Robyn to see she needed attorney to help his bloom get into this country next September... some man answered phone in the female-only residence. I immediately said, "I think I've got a wrong number..." The guy replied, "Oh, that's all right, Tak! You called right place!"
Yah, I knew I NEVER misdialed my home number!
It was Lee, Robyn's brother came back from Frankfurt, Germany. Robyn informed that he was now out of army and got a job with private sector... he will go back to Germany to do similar things, not for government anymore, but for the company.
Congrats, Lee! I am so happy for you.
I told my sister that I was sure to see her over this weekend. So those who still have a ticket with number on the waiting list for going out with me, please understand that I will be out of town. During that time, I won't answer any questions regarding how soon you could possibly get your turn to hang out with me! (hehe)
Anyway, haven't seen Robyn for such a long time. Hope she will be recognizable! (Geee)
Remains of the week seemed quite settled... going out with visitor from Japan tomorrow night, Sushi Buffet dinner with friends in Friday evening, and trip to North Carolina from Saturday.
Bye, ya'll!
|
June 6, 2000 =Team for Fritz? or for Hart Family? |
Tuesday... yes, softball night. Let's kick off today's update with scoreboard from the game.
Team 1 2 3 4 5 6 T Fritz 0 8 0 4 3 - 15 Enforcers 1 1 0 7 0 - 9
Yes, yes, yes!!! We came around... we won!
Tonight's starting lineup:
- Tak (3B)
- Dawn (RCF)
- Calvin (LCF)
- Misty (SS) - fiancee of Jay's, Kristi Hart's brother
- Jim (2B) - Kristi Hart's father
- Cindy - non-Fritz (1B)
- Tim (P)
- Leslie - Billy's wife (LF)
- Billy (RF)
- Gloria (C)
You can see there were 2 new players in that list for tonight's game. Yes, Billy Johns played tonight. He did great! And another player form somewhere... Jim Hart, Brenda Hart's husband and Kristi's father! He did wonderfully, too (hit two big ones!).
Really funny thing... Brenda was really telling Jim what to do... seemed that she brought some DOMESTIC issues into the field tonight. Although, I guess it worked well and he did well. Furthermore, we all did great to win the game.
Brenda, you really cracked me up tonight! Was pretty good ---
Did we play as Fritz still? Question is ... the team was now playing for Hart's family since there were 2 players in the lineup as you did see and, usually, we have Jay - Kristi's bro too. So there were 3 players helping us to win. Hence, I better say, we do NOT do this for Fritz anymore, but for Hart family! (hehe)
What about me? As lead off, I did so-so. 1st at bat: Fly to Left, 2nd: Double to Center (a few RBI's), 3rd: Grounder to 3B, and 4th: Single to Left. Total 2 for 4 (.500). Somewhat I feel light in physical exercise tonight. I felt I could do more... Maybe this feeling didn't work well and I didn't swing precisely as I should have.
I've got 4 tickets of Braves for tomorrow night... checking around... almost all friends were booked up! (how bad, huh) I got like
Strike 1! (Tak: "that's all right")Strike 2!! (Tak: "no problem")
Strike 3, you're outta here!!! (Tak: "Man! What a luck!")
Strike 4, do you wanna continue? --- (Tak: "Forget it!")
Sounds like that, unfortunately. I know, last minute thing is always tough to handle just like my biz. I know, I know... What should I do? Oh, I still have a couple of names in my Palm computer... should check them out tomorrow. Most likely, I will find companies from coworkers.
PLEASE don't misunderstand me here... that strike out thing isn't describing like I failed asking girls out!!! I only meant of friends including MALES! (well, I can compromise that there were some females in it)
Anyway, I don't know whom to go to the game tomorrow yet. Will see tomorrow in here.
If you wanna go and happen to know my cellular phone number, you must be able to be in! (call me immediately! Time is certainly running out, okay!)See you in the ballpark!

June 5, 2000 =Sent to Minor? |
Controversy still exists and, in fact, continues?! John Rocker@Atlanta Braves was sent to minors (AAA) today... Braves organization denies the link to what John said to Sports Illustrated writer who back in last December wrote up about John in article dealing with John was racist. No relation to what he did yesterday? Big lie! John may really blew his entire career without kidding! Too bad that he couldn't concentrate on pitching. He must be a great ball player if he wouldn't have had a mouth!
Do I agree with this transaction? Somewhat... Sending him to minor league isn't ultimate solution for sure... at least temporal... Then what? That would be very interesting.
John, suck it up! Don't make anymore boo-boo's..
Hey, my room is extremely hot tonight... tons of rain cooled off the temperature... though this effect doesn't reach to where I am typing right at this moment!!! (complain mode)
What happened? My house @ Imperial Court doesn't have air conditioning working today... actually won't get to work until Thursday!!! I now presume that this will get worse tomorrow night and night after. How do I get rid of hotness? Do I need to turn off TV? Maybe. Do I shut down this computer? Perhaps. Man, how do I get my life back then? Please help me---!!!
Where is landlord?! Should I delay the room rent and make a picket line?!?! Please join me in order to acquire my normal life in normal temperature!!!
"Ally McBeal" --- rerun tonight. I still love to see "New Man in Town" thing - (do you know about it?)
Today's work? Actually not bad at all as Monday thing. Very few calls from clients. It was very stable and I got all things done pretty smoothly.
My roommate Yuko quits her current job in two weeks; she gets a job nearby my office?!?! My question --- my ONLY question is, "Has Melrose Place story ever ended?" The answer is nope. I just found that there was still something going on...
Wow... missing air conditioning!!! Give me a cool air!
Hey, don't water it!!!
|
June 4, 2000 ="Shanghai Noon" --- NG! |
Ya'll, time to get back to normal (life)!!! Forget all about your good time over this weekend! Me? So should I, then. I feel pretty well with a couple of drinks with young ladies tonight... went to a bar called "Fuzzy's" (www.fuzzys.com) in Buckhead.Cooooooool, how many girls were drinking with me?!?! --- let me start counting... 1,2,3,4 --- Man, 4 girls around myself. What a luck I've got for tonight! (hehe)
I met two new ladies... Japanese ones (Yuko -another one & Yumi). Oh shooot, I did count my roommate yk110 in!!! All right, I drank with 3 female friends then.
Music by Tomi Isobe was pretty good as well as food we ate! I should go back to that bar sometime soon! Have you been there before?
Besides the above matter of tonight... I didn't do much --- except a movie. "Shanghai Noon." Waste of your money, PERIOD! I give it "B-" since the movie was pretty boring except Jackie Chan's actions.
Probably this is the lowest-ever-rated Jackie's movie I have even seen! Who wrote this screenplay? Amazingly, NG (=not good)!!! Lucy Liu (from Ally McBeal) didn't suit to this movie at all. She should be more wild character like in Ally or in Charlie's Angels!
I just read an article that this weekend's #1 movie was STILL "M:i2" narrowly from Big Mamma's House. "Shanghai -" was #4 after "Dinosaur" movie.
What movies did ya'll see over this weekend? Hey, I have Message Board on this web site. Please leave your comment about this page or recent movies you saw, etc. Please feel free to write!!! Please write in! Tak's Message Board? Click HERE!
Geeee, already Monday... Sorry, folks. We've got a work to do!
Did Braves win today?
All right, time to sleep...
Is there any gossip around Tak? Like asking someone out whom he's interested in?

June 3, 2000 =Saturday... nothing done... |
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, tons of sleep... (good for me!) this is the only accomplishment that I have done all day long today! Wow, I was staying in bed like almost entire day! Seemingly, I just caught up... eventually.Actually, I watched TV... Braves vs. Yanks. Man, I was so disappointed about the game. Well, I am glad that Braves finally (it's about time!) kicked butt of Yanks after 8 consecutive loss against them; game itself wasn't that interesting or exciting. Maddux and Clements weren't in good shape for that game. I wanted to see the game with "0" on scoreboard. The game was rather "batting gage" kind thing.
Bamian came over my house around dinner time. My roommate yk110, Bamian, and I went out for dinner. We ate Japanese ramen noodle in Japanese Restaurant "Sakana-ya" in Friday Plaza on P'tree Industrial (just outside the I-285 perimeter).
Then watched Japanese TV programs (again!) --- Funny thing was... as soon as we saw a commercial by Haagen-Dazs ice cream... (of course, they are in Japan too)... we wanted to eat some.
So we went out.
To Indian Trail Road which is just 1 exit north from Jimmy Carter Blvd... there was yk110's favorite ice cream shop... damn, forgot the name of it! Anyway, it is small place open up to 11pm or even midnight. Man, there were tons of people around 10:30 when we showed up there.
What did I get? Strawberry... I am strawberry generation! (no doubt)
Then went to nearby "Malibu" place where you can have a little entertainment since yk110 wanted to hit some balls in gage. They didn't know anything about that place; it turned that they were having fun!
Came back home around midnight... then resumed watching that video again... ended up with going on and on until 3am! (sleepy, huh?!)
It was not really special or anything today. At least relaxing.

June 2, 2000 =Half Day of Work... then Errands! |
Today... just half day of work... then I've got to run some errands. So it was quite light for me since worked only for a half day, like I just said.Errands... first of all, I had a dentist appointment... then went to get GA State Emission Test, then to Gwinnett County Tag Office for renewal. Finally got haircut afterwards.
Did I like this haircut (at SuperCut)??? So-so.
What else today? Not really anything, then... very quite easy day.
Oh, better mention... Congratulations to Brittany, coworker and good friend of mine, on her high school graduation! (ceremony takes place tomorrow, I thought) She's coworker in the office... otherwise like you can imagine, I would have got any chance to meet any high school students!!!
High school graduation? That must be a few years ago for myself... (RIGHT!) I remember that my Dad really didn't want me to spend time for nothing in Japan after my graduation. He really insisted to go SOMEWHERE right after it. In Japan schools end in March. High school graduation usually takes place on 1st of March. Then in my case, I was already in London (of course, England!) on 2nd of March back in 1992.
Too bad that she didn't invite me for the celebration! So what should I do tomorrow?! I was asked to play golf with some Japanese friends... though, I just heard that lots of places were booked up during the morning hours... I am sure that not only we, but also other people (actually lots of them) out there prefer to play golf starting in early morning in order to avoid heat in the afternoon. Too bad, we couldn't book for a play.
So my day tomorrow is kind blank. Should I sleep in then? Maybe.
Any good movies?
This weekend's new release: "Big Momma's House" ...
Came back home around 5pm... my roommate, yk110, still suffer from fever... She told me that she just had a cold from a friend who were hanging around her... Her fever seems remaining with her for a couple of day already. Hope she gets better soon.
Dinner? Actually, I went on easy way to take care of myself. A place serves "Big Mac."
I really really really catch up with my financial records... they are totally out of dated. I am not even sure how much money left in my bank accounts. It's pretty important to keep that log well... so that I can know when to rob the bank nearby (hehe).
Now I better launch the application called "Quicken" to log in all credit card uses!!! (seriously!)
Ya'll have a great weekend!

June 1, 2000 =June, Already? Last Month at Current Work! |
Back in town... already! Too bad that my trip was so limited to a one night stand --- nope, I mean one night long! (Why in the heck I kept saying "one night stand"?!?! What's wrong with me, people! Throw me bones here!)Dallas wasn't bad... though, when going through downtown Atlanta on the way to home tonight, I really felt, "Oh Atlanta wasn't that bad!" for NO particular reasons...
Dallas trip was quite fun... I liked it... just mind about it was too short! Wish could stay longer...
Already June is here... you know, this month is only one I have in working at current position (as many of you know already). Man, time certainly flies. Too fast. Koji must be ready to take off on his own from tomorrow. Training on him is now over! (yah)
New product found on the Internet tonight... from Fuji Film:
![]()
As you can see above picture... this is a digital camera (can you see the difference from ordinary 35mm camera?). Though, you also can see earphone with remote with it... This is new type of Tak's-Most-Wanted gadget... very unique kind! It was digital camera with MP3 player! MP3 is the most famous keyword used in all major search engines such as Yahoo or Lycos, etc. MP3 is the type of data format for music. In other words, you can enjoy the music with this little machine and you can also take pictures or even movies! 240 million pixels of picture produced!
How much? A bit less than 900 bucks in Japan! When available in US market? I would say, by Christmas... maybe.
You know, Tokyo's wild rush hour... this kind of gadget will help people who commute thru such hectic time in trains... carry one for multiple functionality! Do I need one? Definitely under my consideration since I will be one of them who suffer from that kind of stress in commute! (hehe)
Well... I had only 5 hours of sleep! Very sleepy! I think that trip made me tired so easily and short sleep cooperate with that fatigue! So I am sleepy, feeling so tired! Let me close for tonight so that I can rest.
All May stuff now gone under "Tak's Milestone." Please go downward and click "May" for your review. Thanks and see you later!
