Tak's Milestone: October, 2004

October 31, 2004 =October Ends |
Happy Halloween!
Well, Japan time is ahead of yours - in US or in Europe... wherever! Since your such celebration is coming delayed, I will NOT put all ornaments in this page until tomorrow or so. Just for you, okay!
Up at 9:30am... even though MoonFlower made her best effort to wake me up around 7:30am... She didn't fail; I did fail. I thought I pushed myself as much as I could then. Though, not enough.
Fortunate enough, I made Yokohama just about time set to see MoonFlower for date. 1st time for a long time? It might be so... I don't recall precisely. That matters?! Hmmm.
Since we both expected that weather wouldn't be cooperative, no specific plans we had for today and sort like window shopping we did. Mostly for me this time... contrary to regular shopping occasion which is everything for her, not for me.
Paul Smith
Takeo KikuchiThose two brands really had something I wanted. Paul Smith has cool-looking knit sweater priced at 21,000 yen (about 220 dollars) and Takeo Kikuchi showed neat jacket at 31,000 yen (325 dollars).
My plastic was almost on the table of cashier in both shops... though, I did a great job to help my wallet to stay inside my back pocket! TOO DARN EXPENSIVE they were. Absolutely out of my reach!
Surely, I have to compromise myself for such need in some cheaper place in near future.
Man, those shops did try pretty good "TRICK" on me... Nice try, though. Hahaha.

October 30, 2004 =Still Pain in Tooth |
Rainy... all day long and that kept me stay home! No plans beside cable guy's appointment and another one with my dentist.
Finally, cable service is here and at the same time I decided to take cable's internet service. Package of the services, both cable and Internet, is a little cheaper than what I pay for current ADSL service which I have to pay two parties... phone line and Internet connection. Smart move, Tak! Hehehe.
Hence, say goodbye to NTT (phone connection) and ODN (Internet connection) say hello to JCOM!!!
Pain came along with tonight's treatment in my dentist. My dentist did take care of bad root canal and put medicine in the root... Shortly after leaving the place, I started suffering from some (still minor) pain in half jaw of mine! Well, next appointment? Following Saturday. Seems this series of treatment is very much continuous.
Man, I got glued to TV screen 24-7 from today on!!! Call me TV addict or TV bug! Hahaha.

October 29, 2004 =Late - Long (WRONG?) Day |
People in very same department got big trouble in production control and some item was in jeopardy and may cause interruption in its supply chain to customer... Worse scenario? Let the customer's production line go down due to undelivered goods from us.
Solution?
Many sales stuff, including myself, and many from Product Engineering got together and did some hand work... The process began very late like 9pm and it was done by midnight. Yeah, lots of work done by so many coworkers.
So it was long day for sure!
Besides that... some new word kicked in to my life.
"OPLL" which is short for "Ossification of Posterior Longitudinal Ligament" --- big term is it? Hahaha. Anyhow, this term is now in my life dictionary since my father is diagnosed as that. Serious? Could be. Don't know exactly what this kind of bone problem does affect someone for his or her life after the treatment?
It is hard case as government program supports financially (not all... but most).
Will see how this story will develop from here. Surely, am concerned.

October 28, 2004 =Learned Something? |
Sleepy? Yeah, I am. Went to bed around 2am last night and particularly I didn't take any nap at all for this entire afternoon (<BANG!) - am very sleepy and quite ready for bed at this moment.
Work wasn't usual. At 11am, went out from the office for some learning session. With 4 coworkers from sales - Well, all from my group - Miura, Mimura, Kinoshita, and I myself (with one from different group) went to single place. To where? To material supplier's research office. The purpose was that we saw some educational presentation.
On the way to that location, stopped to eat lunch. "Jolly Pasta." 850 yen.
Was it all informative? Sure... In fact, I could solve some issues pending with customer because of today's newly given fact and information. Good stuff. Very productive I can rate this. Plus, after-work drink (and food as entertainment) was absolutely helpful to become familiar with those (sales of that supplier) who attended for entire session.
How long did it last? From initial learning session to the close of entertainment part? Well, from 1pm through 8pm or so. Yeah, long enough. (and fun enough?<BANG!)
Hey, I didn't drink at all. Rather, I was designated driver for the way back! I volunteered.
Tonight, I heard from Asaka Kono who is getting married in coming month. Already moved to new place?! Wow... wait a minute. You have already moved in to future husband place?! Or he doesn't move to that site yet? Anyway as far as I know, she will live in Takasaki, Gumma. Man, long way from Tokyo! (and/or even from Sagamihara where I live)
Tomorrow, there is some meeting scheduled from 2pm. Day after tomorrow, health check-up (mandatory) takes place in the morning. I should ask Doctor to see how well I am...

October 27, 2004 =Attention? |
Some words of sympathy were given upon me from coworkers for Dragons' lost in the Japan Series. Sure! It was so unfortunate. Everyone, including myself, really believed in the victory of Dragons once. We really thought --- that moment would come for the first time in 50 years. Man, it has be at least 51 years for now. What a shack!!!
Plus, more than several coworkers came to me and said some compliment on my attire for today. Specially about tie by Versace and shirt with unique collar style from Liz Claiborne. Not only by female coworkers... some male coworkers approached to me for same. Man, suddenly become popular? Hahaha! I cannot dream much, right?!
Work - not that extremely busy. Though, somewhat kept me doing something constantly.
After work... 1st time in this month I went for English class from 7:45pm. Well actually, I was a little late. I missed two previous sessions in the early month because it was the time for me to suffer from headache, pain in the neck, toothache, and so forth. Remember? Now almost all symptoms are under control... and no more toothache.
I explained such condition I had then and exchanged with other attendees for their up-to-date. Some went to China for vacation, some got a wisdom tooth to take care, some's story of her daughter's 1st time debut in nearby park, etc. Good atmosphere as usual.
Then, it was my turn to do something in last half of class. I picked something like... Each comes with one verb starting with some appointed alphabet and completes a sentence with that verb in present tense. Somehow, it was difficult for them all. Yeah, it was difficult to come up with many verbs... starting B, E, W, X and Z. I had tough "thinking" time there. Hahaha. Good practice, though.
Ralph Lauren
Salvatore FerragamoIsetan Store now follows those above-mentioned brands and sent me an invitation to its winter sale in December. Well, RL and Ferragamo are on 1st weekend in November. Well, I guess, the world really wants me to spend as much money as I have and simultaneously wants me to go bankrupt. Yeah, got to be!
Well, let's NOT inform MoonFlower of such fact of invitations that are in my hand. Not difficult to imagine that she would NOT resist too much and really would try to press my wallet to be even thinner!
In fact, too thin, for now already, to be any thinner!

October 25, 2004 =Missed |
The championship flag was just slipped out of hands of Dragons tonight. Yeah, it MISSED to the champion for the first time in 50 years. Too close... but NOT CLOSE ENOUGH!!!
The game #7 of Japan Series - the game became totally out of control for Dragons. Lions secure the lead by 3rd inning when scoring 5 runs. Thereafter, the game was rather one-sided. At last Dragons did show some strength with all energy left at 9th inning and gained 2 runs. That was it. Dragons lost, failed, and became number 2 in Japan after the loss, 2-7.
Seibu Lions - Champion for 2004
Outfielder Wada, from Gifu, missed the MVP -
but did great with 4 homers (!) in the 7-game-series.For me, it was pay day! 300 dollars were just withdrawn at nearby ATM. Yes, I had been cash-hungry!!! Now, such situation is solved and I can let my life go... Not rich enough but I can manage somehow.
Oh, I had a little disappointment. For this afternoon's appointment, I showed up to client's site and had a brief meeting with some guy... Some guy had been very demanding over the phone with me for a long time. Someday in the past, he called me so many times on single issue for HARASSMENT.
So I was very well-prepared. Memorized all past inquiries that fellow sent with reasonable explanations and facts. I wanted to go step-by-step to REMIND that fellow how UGLY he came down to me. Plus at the same time, I expected of his counterattack upon my attitude. You know he had such attitude in the past to me... so it was very spontaneous for me to think that way.
The meeting was rather shorter than expected. 40 minutes. Mostly I spoke. I didn't go hard... and wanted to see how he would get along. Somehow, he was very clam and gentle. He didn't even seem to be ugly to me at all... so I didn't have to go same way against him then.
Therefore, the meeting was merely simple and had no fights between us. Very mediocre meeting. NOT boring, though.
No hard fighting! Hahaha. I previously thought too much? Life can be simple, huh!

October 24, 2004 =Revenge? |
Day before pay day... THAT matters, right? It does to me! Besides that fact, it is just normal Sunday with no particular things done. "Revenge" against R-PROMETRIC was not completed yet. What about the revenge? Hmmm. Will try again in November.
Man, another earthquake for now, 9:16pm. (magnitude:3) For that I didn't feel any.
Game 6 - Japan Series - is on and Dragons is just behind at 2-3. Am sure that the game is NOT going to an end without any further chance for Dragons to come back. It will do it! Movie "Panic Room" is on another channel. What else on TV...
Earthquake - gave much damage to that region... More than 20 casualties with exceeding 1,500 injured and 65,000 evacuated from their home. Not as bad as one in Kobe back in 1997... though, the damage report hasn't come to an end yet.
For today, there was NO pains in my mouth. Don't mind to drink or eat hot stuff!!! Certainly better!

October 23, 2004 =Earth Quake - Niigata |
Numerous earthquakes tonight!!!
BIG ones. In Niigata, the magnitude of "6+" was recorded!
Yeah, tongiht's TV programs are all gone! All were replaced with special programs reporting of the earthquake. Yes, this apartment building shook more than 5 times... Biggest shake ever since I moved to this place!!! No kidding. Was I scared? Not... really (am a boy, okay!).
Anyway, this seems very severe earthquake; I hope not many people get victimized.
Well besides the temblor, important event for the day is about the dental diagnosis. Finally, my dentist and I came down to the problem! We got it. The tooth with crown (supposedly treated "root canal" previously) was the bad apple. There were three roots in tooth and one of them were somehow not treated. Probably not bad at all when previously treated.
Anyway, dentist will take care of that nerve and I should have no pains after all. So far (after the treatment) so good. Next appointment is scheduled for the event on following Saturday. I wish I could have that sometime on week day.

October 22, 2004 =No Problem! |
Game 5 - Dragons didn't even let Lions think about the ball game... Dragons edged Lions with 6-1. Today's starter Kenshin Kawakami did perfect job which he took care of the game up to 8th inning with 1 run given up. Man, it was beautiful pitch he did... It was just indispensable. Of course, it was unbeatable as well!!! Great deal.
Thanks to majority of members in management who left the office very early, I could come home in good timing to watch the game. Work? Yeah, simple and took good care of whatever it was. Hahaha.
No plans this weekend. I cannot be part of the "outing" tomorrow afternoon because of my dentist appointment. Outing? Yeah, many fellows from the department I belong are going for BBQ... Hope weather will be cooperative. I heard 20-some, including their family members, would be there. Must be fun!
Oh, almost forgot... I am still not allowed to drink (any alcohol beverage).
Today.. it is monthly closing date of my "plastic" - credit card. Wow. Did I succeed to reduce the usage in this period? Well, at least compared to preceding period, yes, I did a good job. Though, who knows of following month? As far as I am sure for now, paid fee for golf (the other day, remember?), for some book, etc. Plus, am expected to go to some big sales like by Ralph Loren with MoonFlower.
I should leave my entire wallet home when leaving for somewhere else. Smart? Or maybe dumb enough. Hehehe.

October 21, 2004 =Ball Game |
Hell of ball games!!! Many (almost all?) New Yorkers may have difficulty to sleep tonight after their Yankees got swept by Red Sox for the season. Sorry, it's OVER.
While, I had a good time for last two hours or so... this festivity should go on. Dragons now, as I predicted yesterday, made it tied for the Series. Big game tonight, 8-2. Good ball game. Soon as coming home, started watching the game and haven't missed any part of the game since then. The mood will continue and Dragons will advance after game tomorrow night.
Work was a piece of cake! Hahaha, just kidding. Though, I mostly deal with minor things and none of them was troublesome to me. In fact, I had to fight against sleepiness... from the lack of sleep. Will gain plenty of rest this Saturday... hopefully. For weekend, am pretty much booked for plan. Plan "SECRET," hahaha... not really.
Simply, time for REVENGE! (against "R-Prometric") Plus, dentist appointment. Man, I should go to nearest ATM for some cash! I have to pay BIG bucks for treatment. No dental insurance I have.
Man, more than 170 visitors to my Japanese page yesterday ALONE. I guess, so many people out there went straight home after work since that typhoon and spared much time to surf the Net... that's why, right?! If not, how come the number of visitor is back on average number of visitors tonight?!
Too bad... that I cannot conclude that I gained new readers somewhere. Man, the fact of such number really underminds and refutes my sort WISH. How come I want more readers?! Hey, doing a thing, like this, everyday certainly demands some incentives! In other words, I would like more and more (new) people to see and read about me! Hehehe. Call me psycho!

October 20, 2004 =Everyone --- So... |
Hi folks! Am in the middle of powerful typhoon! Well, not quite yet. It's coming!!! It will be in this area sometime tonight. Very late.
Heard news... GOOD one. Takashi Moriya is accepted by some graduate school in Nagoya for its Ph.D. program. Congratulations!!! What a wonderful news!!! Wao, he is going to very very very well-educated. We all know that he was a hell of smart fellow.
Wait a minute... I can name SO MANY... many of my friends are so smart and educated in major (renown) educational institutions. Charlie (now in Kazakhstan on job), Kirk, yk110, Tyson... Hmmm.
How come I am only one NOT that smart?! Hmmm... am born to be so... I should've asked my mother to make me smart. I forgot!!! Hahaha, just kidding.
To be honest with you, I have a great admiration of those who hold BIG NAMES... Since I really wanted to be one. Not that late yet? I can take it up for myself and still can give it a shot?! SURE!
"Life is adventure." I can start mine anytime I want. I will.
Well-prepared for tonight. I last night bought extra snacks and foods for this. So I came straight home from work. Spending my quality time without TV. Reading takes place with me in quiet atmosphere. "Tranquillity."
How about work?! Stayed in the office... Nobody would love to go out under such severe weather, right?! I really followed my honest feeling. It must be right. Was very sleepy all day long, though. Yeah, that was side effect from the lacking of sleep. Went to bed around 2am THIS MORNING.
What about tonight?! Well, should be before 2am!
Due to this inclement weather all over Japan, even the game of Japan Series was postponed. As a result, the game #7 will be held on following Monday? Wow. No change of prediction for me that Dragons will win the whole thing! Go Dragons!
One last thing. I received a notice that this apartment premise was going to be cable-networking. And such innovation will take place sometime this and next week. Means, I can enjoy extra channels when contracting for the service! Wow, what would you think? I should go for it to secure further entertainment? Anyway, big change.

October 19, 2004 =Nap Taken? |
Man, Dragons didn't come easy to win tonight in Japan Series... too bad that they got their ass KICKED with 8-10 in game #3. Now 1-2 in the series. Will tie in the series in terms of edging Lions in game #4!
In US... WHO IN THE WORLD can stop Ortiz of Sox? Stop him! Or no way for Yanks to advance!!!
Several friends in US emailed me to say hello! In fact, one of them, Nori-san in Los Angeles, had been out of touch for a long time... longer than half a year for sure. Good to hear from ya!!! Now you're retired?! Oh, I didn't know.
Rain... all day long. Will be pretty much same tomorrow. Plus, TYPHOOOON!
Had a small meeting with client in late afternoon and I had to raise some issue with my concern. The capacity of certain product is was the issue. The production capacity is nearly full for now and I asked that customer, in Purchasing Department, to take care of the deal in the end of his company to release its consent. We need to have that consent in order for us to increase the capacity by adding new equipment. In part of process change... we have to take such actions not to cut the supply chain of the product. That fellow promised me to do his best to push the deal.
Good meeting.
Came home around 7pm... and watched that ball game. Bad result like previously mentioned. Then did what?! I guess, I didn't do anything much. Sort spaced out!
Man, I should reply emails from friends!!! I know, I usually don't do that quick. I really should.

October 18, 2004 =New Week |
Busy... busier than usual? Yeah, somehow. Not anyone's fault. Some demanding customer wanted to make me busy to do some job for him. You know, such "urgent" requests were made with appointment to my name. Yeah, contrary to my wish! No such appointment wanted for me! Hehehe.
For your information, I do not like much of that customer in particular. Just not only demanding... but also pushing his belief against the fact I have in data. I could be mean to that fellow over the phone... Yeah, that is good idea! <BANG!
Good climate. Very mild. Typical fall day... doesn't last even for tomorrow?! ANOTHER (still?) typhoon is now approaching to Japan and will arrive in this region probably on Wednesday. According to the forecast, it will rain tomorrow. Man, already?!
No Japan Series game tonight. Tomorrow, game #3... won't be disturbed at all since the game takes place in Seibu Dome. Hope Dragons won't come to any difficulty to sweep the Lions hereon. Am sure that Dragons can!
Sudden message from high school buddy. Yasunori just emailed me, saying that I should hook some friend of mine to his female friend. Without no description of such lady, I wouldn't take any initiative... so I said in my response. Correct?!
What if that woman would be great FOR ME?! <BANG! --- missile with nuclear warhead may come this way from the direction where MoonFlower lives?! Could happen! Hahaha.
Anyhow, I have to wait and see how that friend come back with me about his female friend needing some guy to marry?! Hmmm. Remember?! I have very strict policy that any fellow going through my involvement or even arrangement for marrying will owe BIG to me. Yeah, CASH, boy! No bargaining! No discount, either. You know, managing one's life is certainly DIFFICULT!
Nikkei (Stock Exchange) index remains below 11,000-level? Too bad. Who can bring some incentive to push it up?! Only NYSE? Or other fundamental index like unemployment rate?!
Just read today's Nikkei news paper. No interesting news within.

October 17, 2004 =Rest? |
Fatigue... awful languishment stays inside me for all day long. It was quite difficult for me to get out of futon to start a day. It was 11am or so when starting my Sunday.
I should have been doing something for the day; I didn't do anything practically. Stayed home besides one time that I went out to grab something to eat for supper. Otherwise, it was very quiet and calm.
For foods, I went down to "Saty" before Hashimoto Station. First time every been there when no English class. You know, that place is my usual shopping location only after the class on Tuesday. Reason? No particular one... just happened to be so.
Late afternoon, I watched both men's and women's pro-golf on TV. Changed the channel back and forth between two programs. Man, didn't I become depressed with yesterday's own result and felt that I would play golf no more? Somehow I watched and paid attention to pro's swings. Hmmm, is there still any willingness of mine to improve my skills? Well, will see.
"Godzilla" Matsui hit 2 homers in Boston against Red Sox. Three (winning games) in row for Yankees in that division championship. We all are more than sure that Yankees will advance to World Series... against possibly Cardinals. However, I do want to see the match-up of Yankees with Clemens' Astros. You know, it will be so exciting to see Clemens faces Yanks. Agree?
While, Japan Series is in progress. My Dragons tied Lions in the series with tonight's victory, 11-6. Good deal! Dragons will be the champion for the 1st time in 50 years! Yep, FIVE-ZERO --- 50 years.
What about football (soccer)? What about it? Hahaha.
Will hit my sack early. Wait, how come I am drinking espresso at this late? That drink may affect my wakefulness, right?

October 16, 2004 =Golf |
Please take a look at my score for today. Very disappointing. Moreover, I donated more than several balls... called upon "Out of Bounds."
3-sum = Tak's party only
Kashima no Mori Country Club Out In Total Tak 55 59 114 Kiyoshi Ishii 59 61 120 Sakae Tanaka 46 49 98Like I said... remember?! Out of problem... out of control - thing. My prediction became the reality! So I shouldn't practice anymore?! I should quit it all? You know, so I felt while playing today. I hit ground more than ball itself. Yeah, so-called "DUFFING." Am super good at it!
13 contestants. - Missed Nakajima who had to go to his friend's funeral. Well, will see him in following gathering for sure.
Anyway, there is single truth from today's result.
Tak Yamada CANNOT play golf.
Winner? Nakabayashi - scored 73.20 (Net) & 90 (Gross) --- Congratulations!
Going to and coming back from Ibaragi... didn't speed (much). Did I feel so sleepy after play? Yeah, way up to the course was easy and I was quite awake. Though after play, driving home was sort tough. Bad traffic jam really irritated me and I felt sleepy. I took a small bottle of drink that supposed to make me awake from sleepiness. Worked? NOT immediately. 20 or 30 minutes after taking, the effect really appeared. Yeah, I was saved. Though, didn't know that it was required some time before the effect to come in.
Ishii, Takashima, Sakae, Nishimura, Kiguchi... all familiar faces. Fun to be with them for sure. Thank you, folks!

October 15, 2004 =Will / Will NOT Cover? |
6:30pm... at my dentist... Didn't know that I would come to such bad news. Treatment was not even complete yet. In fact, not really did anything at all in this session. Rather, it was a consulting. Finally determined which tooth is bad one causing the headache. Then dentist and I came to a talk. Since the bad tooth was the one being treated previously. Going to cost quite bit of money since insurance won't cover such.
Wait a minute... Do I have to come to another challenging situation in my finance?! Gee!!!
Though, for sure thing I need to get out of this mess that I keep having pain in mouth!
Work... doesn't matter. Money (don't have much) yields to one's health! (pain issue) Am sure that many of you agree with my point as well. Next appointment is scheduled for next Saturday after the one in this weekend.
Will check the balance of my bank account to see whether I still can afford the treatment or not <BANG!
Tomorrow, it will be very early that I go out for a round. Departure is around 4:30am since it takes THREE hours to get to the golf course in Ibaragi. Wow! I must be tired even before the 1st shot!!!

October 14, 2004 =Good Swing? |
I thought that I learned something important to hit a ball straight with proper swing. WRONG. Totally wrong. I didn't learn much from prior practice and am TERRIBLE golfer! Disappointed myself so much.
How did I verify that?! Easy thing. Showed up to driving range once again tonight to ensure of my belief. Man, all in vain. Even single ball went on straight out of my swing! Grip was right and new swing I made... TERRIBLE! Balls were out of control? NOT SIMPLY THAT... Rather, OUT OF PROBLEM!
This weekend for golfing... please don't even have some expectation like I may play well... FORGET IT. I will finish all 18 holes with patience.... That's all I think and feel for the event.
For work. I went on for appointment. I got to the place for meeting around 4pm. Yeah, my departure sort delayed... I had to take care of internal issues prior to my leaving for meeting. Met some new person from Quality Assurance of client company. Seemed very nice and friendly. He listened to me very carefully and showed favorable action toward my request on new business. Though, the mood was turned around when seeing someone else... whom I have previously met... That gentleman was and still is not really cooperative with me. Whatever I ask as request, he relied with single say that they would take a look at it... and added that they may not be that helping.
SO difficult for me to handle someone like that.
Nissan's brand new "FUGA" introduced. Very cool car... very expensive! Almost $55K!!! Well, certainly that model is going to US next year. Can you wait?! Are you the potential customer for one?
Nissan FUGA - I will NEVER forget about this... because I dealt with some parts for the model. For first time in my entire life. Big deal, huh?
For your information, I cannot afford one! (too bad... and too sad.)
Boss Miura was out for the Fuga show tonight... I came back in the office and found that he was gone! I wish I could have gone with him to see. I guess, I didn't have such privilege.
Well, already Friday? Great! From tomorrow, weather is finally going to be good. About time! Oh, that's why I washed my car and filled it up with gas for weekend.
Oh, usual guy at the gas station checked my car and told me that I haven't drive much... since last time he did the oil change.
Will drive quite bit this weekend. Hahaha. Good night!

October 13, 2004 =Good Glove |
Nike, PING, TaylorMade, Mizuno, Titleist, what else... and I chose "FootJoy." What brand?! Golf glove. Just needed one for this coming Saturday competition with all ex-coworkers. All used were sort worn out and I decided to grab new glove. About 20 dollars for that brand and it fitted pretty good.
Did not only try to put it on, but also I hit some balls in terms of wearing that new glove in driving range tonight. Wow, I even went out for hitting practice?! Yeah, did. Busy night tonight.
In driving session (not a car... GOLF!), I checked and changed the gripping style. I learned a little from Internet. I wanted to try some new style and did... DIDN'T CHANGE much. Balls (I mean GOLF balls! Nothing else...) were out of control! Just like before! I bet that it won't bring any change to my Saturday result. I indeed had hoped that there would be a big difference.
Oh that golf outing, ex-Boss Ito is expected absent. Wow, so many fans out there may disappoint themselves with that fact... Unfortunately, he informed me that he wouldn't be there this Saturday.
For work, there has been no appointments since the beginning of the week. Yep, since Tuesday. Is that true that I am in sales position? You should suspect that... I may not even know how to sell. I may not even have any expertise of the products at all? Hehehe.
Well, unfortunately (?) I hold one appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Hope weather will be not that bad like recent days here. I have to drive some time for that tomorrow afternoon. Good deal in that appointment? Not sure yet. Will see.
Final notice I received... one of item, part of my concern, doesn't look too good about meeting the increasing demand. Like said, I received a message via email that production quantity by the demand is soon to exceed that by full capacity. Wow, big deal?! Sure. It has been the biggest concern and still is. I quickly responded with current status of the talk with client for solution. Hope this won't come to be the worst scenario. Am really concerned.

October 12, 2004 =Headache Remains |
Obviously unhealthy for now and I will heal sooner or later. By the way, one interesting thing is just found. As far as you come here to read about me everyday or at least once a while.... you must like what I write about myself. That's good side of doing this. What about the contrary? Keeping diary is bad for me?
Some study took place in Glasgow, England. That shows that those who keep diaries have unhealthy lives as suffering from headaches (BINGO!), sleeplessness (ditto), digestive problems (as always), and social awkwardness (as born to be!).
WHATEVER!
You want to read about it in depth? See here:
"Dear diary, you make me sick"
http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99996374Man, that theory is really suitable to my current situation. I should quit? Can you stand your life without my webpage? <BANG!
1st day of the week at work! Easy?! Didn't pass quick enough as I hoped it would. Some annoying headache really made me feel that it was quite time to pass.
Tak was only one at work not busy?! My client had requested us to submit some data for new product and last Wednesday I certainly passed that data to one of engineers to submit to client upon consent given by his supervisor. Today I passed by that engineer's desk and asked him for update whether he has it or not. Surprisingly enough, the data wasn't even in the side of client yet at that moment.
Hmmmm what happened?! Is that as he has "spaced out" since that Wednesday? Well, I see some nightmare is coming up due to this. Hmmm.
Tonight it is for usual English lesson. I passed. Had to do something else and didn't want to push myself much with such headache tonight. Reasonable?

October 11, 2004 =Really Scared?! |
Venus Fort... Daiba Tokyo was the destination of the day. Early morning for me. I was in train by 9:30am already. Early enough! Hahaha. Took me about hour and a half to get there... Weather, contrary to forecast, was so-so... cloudy.
1st time for me to put on "tsumori" shirt - the black one bought last week or so. Remember? MoonFlower wanted to buy same shirt for herself and I turned that down then. Of course, she was very envious of me wearing such for today. Hahaha, got her!
By the way, body... all over my body were so sore. Must be from a little exercise in driving range last night.
No purchase all day long for me. She didn't come to the moment to make her mind up to buy something today, either. Good for her?! Bad for me?! Hmmmm. Oh however, she picked up new pants... previously purchased! Gee, she is always beyond my expectation or imagination. She is always coming on top of me?! Hehehe.
"Scary Movie 3" - scary enough? Not kind of movie MoonFlower would have chosen... unless I pushed to see this movie in particular. Bad choice?! Well, those two preceding movie of the same series were done better... than this one. Or maybe, too much expectation with me?
MoonFlower at least laughed occasionally in that movie. That was a (big?) relief for me. I was sort concerned of her post-movie reaction... she may come to me with such mode wasting money for dumb movie like that... At the end - after the movie - she has somewhat some respect to me and we didn't come to cross each other!
Lunch: Italian
Supper: ThaiI paid for lunch, movie tickets, and coffee in Starbucks. Hmmm, overpaid?!

October 10, 2004 =Still Sunday |
Hey, who said that it would clear up today?! It didn't. Man, prediction was nothing but mere prediction... not really coming true.
Woke up around 9-ish. Even though I turned down an offer by MoonFlower to join her for yoga exercise this morning <BANG, I got up as supposed to (why?). Didn't want to miss morning special (bread and egg) at usual cafe and rushed in. Read several magazines and newspapers. Some interesting article I read... about Goldman Sachs... man, so many people out there make a hell of money! I wish I could work there. Hahaha, yeah, DREAM ON! < BANG!
Stopped by two clothing stores that I had wanted to check for a long time. Nothing found. I wanted to buy winter jacket. Budget? As low as possibly it can.
So MoonFlower went for body exercise and I didn't? Well, let me finish my STORY.
During the day, I was home. Took a nap and finally unpacked the brand new DVD package. My favorite "Ally McBeal." Took me longer than 2 years to do so!!! The 3rd season DVDs were in mint condition! Hehehe. And I watched 1st episode in the 3rd season. Laughed. Laughed hard.
How come Renee started her own firm?! Man, I should check previous episodes to fresh my memory... What about Billy? Hahaha.
"Ally" is way more than "Friends" or "X-Files"... not compared to "Sex-" yet... because I have never seen single episode completely yet. Though, am very much interested in that program. (i.e. "Sex and the City")
And finally at night, went out for eat by myself and ate some rice stuff and arrived in driving range. Yeah, 1st time in this half year to make a swing! Surely, balls were out of control!
Wait a minute... have I ever had such control?! As far as I know, neither on balls (certainly) , any of girlfriends I have ever dated (unfortunately), nor on MYSELF! <DARN IT!
BAD boy!

October 9, 2004 =Stay Quiet |
Only event for the day is the appointment in hospital. Against 9:30am appointment, I woke up around 8:40pm. Man! Didn't want to be late to that... like you would think. So hurried to get set and drove up to Fuchinobe. Didn't take too long unlike what I previously thought. At receptionist desk I checked in at 9:17am. Perfect, I made it.
After a few minutes of registration process, I was asked to move on to the department for cranial nerve surgery. A few people were already in waiting area and I thought that it won't talk too long until my name gets called. WRONG. After a while, nurse and doc himself became extremely busy... One of nurse ran in and out of the department room. Ambulance... actually two of them arrived almost at the same time. Seemed it was very rare to happen.
That fact disturbed usual pace of usual consultation process and my name was eventually called around 11:30am. Gosh!
Doc looked early-40's and somehow MIB. Yeah, man in black. Shirt, pants... and even tie were all in black. Some extreme guy practice medicine out there like that? I guess so.
He told me that the cause is NOT in brain... rather neck hurts and causes it all. Literally, "pain-in-the-neck" issue? Hahaha!
Then, x-rayed in my neck. Somehow very CUTE lady technician for me. Great place I went!!! Though, she didn't seem to be favorable to chat with me... Sounded pretty much sticking to her profession. DARN. You know, if she were such open-minded, I would initiate a conversation with full of jokes... You know, my kind of "kick" for her.
Anyway, the diagnosis was sort in vague. Doc said nothing really serious and recommended me to build muscle on shoulders by exercise. At the same time, prescribed a drug, pain-killer and winding-down, for two weeks. Will see if any development with such drug.
Came home after hospital. Middle of the afternoon. Typhoon was about to come to the region and I decided to stay home quiet. You know, nothing we can do about the weather. After coming home, didn't take a long time to have inclement weather around. So windy and pouring!
Well, hope all clear up. Plus, hope pain is gone!

October 8, 2004 =Another One to Show? |
Man, America suffers from damages caused by several hurricanes passed by. Now Japan faces the potentiality of a large powerful typhoon, #22 in this year, to hit directly over this weekend.
Coming and coming and really coming! NOT talking about a thing in bed <BANG! Rather, talking about big rain storm! As mentioned before, this weekend is extended to Monday and there must be so many people, perhaps including yourself, who plan to go out then.
As far as I know, Hilton Hotel rooms for this weekend are all booked out... that's why no plans for me to stay anywhere. (HEY, Hilton is only place for me?)
Oh, headache still remains and held an appointment with Fuchinobe General (Polyclinic) Hospital for tomorrow. Appointment with the department of cranial nerve surgery. Will see how I will be diagnosed by such medical specialist.
Tonight, got haircut. 2300 yen. About 25 dollars.

October 7, 2004 =Surprise Surprise? |
Press release... Must be a big bit. I just read a source reporting that UPS agrees to acquire Menlo. Wow, who would ever have thought about it?! Precisely, "Menlo Worldwide Forwarding."
Must be a big deal for those who are ex-coworkers of mine! Are they aware of this move?!
Today's Tak... still having some pain in mouth. Busy dealing with customers face to face for afternoon. Otherwise, it was flat and normal.
Called for reservation... I will get haircut tomorrow night.
Another thing... (ex) Boss Ito called me up. He sounded fine and I bet that he hasn't find new girlfriend yet in his new place. Well, am sure that he is extremely busy on new assignment given by management. I know and am confident that he always reaches to the goal and nothing really concerns about that.
Another earthquake? Not here... But in upper northern Japan. Man, something is really going on. Don't you think?
Exceptional weekend is ahead. National holiday, Sport Day, is on Monday and my work sends its all employees home for extra day off. For that everyone can enjoy extended 3-day-weekend from Saturday. However, it is SO unfortunate that weather will not be that favorable... since ANOTHER typhoon is in this direction from Pacific Ocean.
My plan for weekend?
Saturday - visit hospital for possible test? Will see.
Sunday - movie, maybe?
Monday - bored?Weather would be like:
Saturday - rain for 100% sure
Sunday - partially rain and possibly clouds
Monday - cloudyPlan and weather don't (will never?) match... So unfortunate. I will keep mumbling.
Severity of my pain (includes headache, toothache, and alike): 5 out of 10 (fairly painful).

October 6, 2004 =Cause Found? |
In efforts to define the cause of entire "languishment" I have for a while... I took a half day off.
Dentist appointment. From 10:30, took me more than an hour. Wait...
Did you feel THAT? Big earthquake. In Tokyo area... Certainly, my apartment building shook quite... Am most certain that it was the biggest since I moved here. You know, we have experienced the number of earthquakes for a year and this issue should be considered serious. So many people predict that all those (rather) minor temblor is as prelude to the main seriously-damaging earthquake. Hope not happening.
Are you okay out there? Sure hope so.
Got a call, immediately after the shake, from MoonFlower who was so scared by such natural move. I honestly didn't know that she disliked earthquake so much. Wow, I learned something new today! <BANG She told that she was horrified and wanted me to call to see if she was okay or not... and waited and waited... NO CALLS for her!
So she called me, instead. My bad? What do you think? Hmmmm.
Back to the dentist story. My dentist doubted two teeth which were partially treated in the past. He told me that it was possible that some left-over virus infected deeper for a long time and now caused such pain. My suspicion that one tooth treated and covered crown causes entire nerve-wracking was turned down by him because the symptom described doesn't come out of such tooth without nerves! (makes sense)
So he and I agreed with each other that we (precisely he) treat BOTH teeth... since both has BOMBs causing some further damage to my nerve even though they are not for now. Hope at least one of two really causes all... so that I can be healed after the treatment. Hope this is it about entire occurrence.
Worry is still continuing. Treatment in dentist wasn't finished within today's session yet... so I have to show up some other time... Though, I have to check something out... What if not by bad tooth but something else?
MoonFlower strongly suggests me to go to local hospital... large one. Well, I have to take that suggestion... Will search which hospital is good to go.
Oh, I x-rayed THREE times today. I was exposed to too much radiation?!

October 5, 2004 =At Least I Can Do |
Hi folks... I just came home... after submitting note that I would take a half day off tomorrow. Yep, I called for an appointment to my dentist. It is 10:30am tomorrow.
At this point, still not 100% sure that toothache really causes all pain I have for now... from my head down to foot. Yeah, pain is everywhere!
Will see what my dentist says for all symptoms I have.
Work wasn't that productive... Well, I did all I could even though I have such difficulty toward concentration. Though, I did all necessary not to pass any bad issues or problems on to other departments or even customers. Spent time in the morning at my desk. Wrote more than several email messages... and made a few phone calls. For afternoon, went out for 2 appointments and took me quite while. It was almost 7pm when I got back in the office.
"Should go home quickly tonight," said Boss Miura. He declared such to all members of his team... including myself. Something must have happened. Yeah, it has. Some big issue (problem?) is going on and we all should be ready for whatever may be. Well at least not of my concern at all. Colleagues in the department have to survive with issues, I guess. Hmmmm.
Could be just before nightmare?
Who can stop this continuous rain? Lots of rainfall throughout the day!
Oh, I appreciate of your concern on me. Received several friendly message from readers here. Thanks!

October 4, 2004 =Could Be... |
My pain... toothache was, I thought, minor... Somehow became so serious. I should see my dentist?! I had previously thought that this was caused by stiffed shoulder or other (tense) nerves involved. This could be merely of normal pain in my tooth.
Somehow this happens... DARN!
I seriously ran out of patience... and no concentration for whatever work has to be done is there for me. This Monday luckily became usual one and I had no much trouble. Negative side was of that pain I had.
Received some messages... expressing some criticism on me who spent so much recently. You must be RIGHT! I needed to save... and still do! Somehow, out of control. Self-control over limited budget is a must to have for me now. Do you have one for yourself?!
Today's morning gathering for all employees... two top executives came to the stage for speech. Wow, must be a big deal... and the topics picked by them were quite serious. Business is getting tougher and tougher and we have to remain competitive...
Am I playing a roll at least partially for that?! Hmmm, I cannot judge that... My boss should be able to tell.
Oh, I called up old work, UPS Suzuyo, for quote. It's extremely awkward for me to call my old and still familiar place for service... You know, the position has been changed and now I am customer... Must be wrong picture?!

October 3, 2004 =Downward |
Bad... I am really in bad shape for today and I have to close it shortly for today's update. In fact, nothing really got accomplished. Work up as early as usual... around or a little before 9am. Not bad start then.
Though, "languishment" was immediately recognized. Must be from physical fatigue... Plus, the lacking of sleep.
Stayed awake... all in the morning and in afternoon... Though, sure enough that I was like a zombi. Watched TV or read newly-received magazine "Impression Gold." Though, nothing really interested me at all and at the same time I have no motives to do anything.
Hence, decided to go to bed early enough to rest myself tonight. Not bad idea... Rather, must be right and good for me.

October 2, 2004 =ONCE AGAIN |
Oops, I did it again-
Remember that I bought a "wrinkled" shirt in pink in the past... the brand call "tsumori chisato." Very rare to find men's clothes because usually wormen's around.
Because MoonFlower wanted to see things around in Aoyama area... we stopped by the "tsumori chisato" shop. She usually buys stuff in that place and she knew last manager there. Today, new manager came to us and served. She didn't buy anything even after thorough search in the store. While, I came to find something from men's shelf.
Another "wrinkled" shirt... but in BLACK.
According to the store manager, so many (male) celebrities came to look for one. For example, Hide Nakata - soccer player now playing in Europe- came and grabbed about three shirts of the type.
Back in May - bought pink shirt... want to see that?
http://www.ogaki.net/pastdiary/2004/05/Tsumori1.JPG
http://www.ogaki.net/pastdiary/2004/05/Tsumori2.JPGNow you must be very curious how much paid for?! Hmmm, I have to disclose such (personal) information?! Well, noting to be ashamed of... like?!
16,800 yen. About 175 dollars. Gee, expensive!!! Darn high price!!!

October 1, 2004 =Dragons Won It All! |
Chunichi Dragons holds 2004 pennant of the Central League!!!
Man, we have waited for a long time... over 5 years to see this scene. Very content moment for those who are aficionados including myself!
Busy for work?! Well, didn't matter since Dragons came to victory of the season... nothing really matters anymore! Hahaha.
By the way, I have to say, I now suffer from severe pain... sort toothache. Dull pain in my mouth. Hmmm how come?! Cannot eat hot stuff.
Should see dentist?!
