Tak's Milestone: June, 2005

June 30, 2005 =End of Half

"Why don't you go and unpack your stuff... and we look for the 2nd chance..." Closing phrase of one episode on "West Wing." Yeah, this series of drama is on late night cable channel here. Every time I find reruns... I watch. I love this. I guess you know so by now since more than several occasions I have mentioned of this TV drama series.

I swear that I would buy DVD copies if available. The truth is that "West Wing" hasn't come out for either DVD or VHS tape yet. "Ally McBeal" is counted in to my favorite drama and "the Practice" (by same producer of "Ally") follows. Then, "West Wing" represents the third.

For my DVD collection, I still miss forth and fifth seasons of DVD for Ally McBeal. "The Practice" and "West Wing" have not come to the shelf in stores yet. They surely will be listed for my future shopping.

End of 1st half... the year 2005! How has yours been? Mine? Somewhat okay. Not perfectly splendid... but still positive.

Today's work. Afternoon meeting which lasts for an hour and half results the timing of my coming back to the office to be delayed. That means that I miss a chance to go to clinic for treatment. Hence, I have to try to make that happen tomorrow. Good meeting? Well, it is my fault not to cover everything I want. Particularly, the schedule issue is missed because of my hesitation of speak-up. Truly, I mumble my will for that agenda... yet don't complete sentence for others at the same table.

Why not tell them flat-out? That's because I, by instinct, know customer's plan to be without confirming it with customer. Plus, that plan is tough and difficult to make at this point of time. In other words, I procrastinate myself coming to know the fact by customer's word. You know what I mean?

Well, I have to come to face it by tomorrow so that I can kick off the entire plan for new product. Hmmm, tough to deal with it.

Gee, passing 1am. Way passed my bed time!

Tomorrow, 1st day of 2nd half for the year, it is significant that we all, at work, Receive season bonus. Some extra cash!!!

Have nice dream! (hehehe)

June 29, 2005 =Lack of Sleep

Strong sunlight can be even harmful... Hot weather unusually continues throughout wet season. Sounds like it will be disturbed by tomorrow or so. Finally, some cool off can be expected. Are you surviving through this?

No appointments for the day. Well, there are several meetings scheduled for Thursday and Friday... so I should take care of much work on my desk as possible before those meetings so that I can come to peaceful weekend. You know what I mean.

Surprise, surprise! I am told, over lunch period, that some coworker's wife finds this "kinky" website by accident. Since then, she has been logging on and read all about me! Wow! I should be careful what I hereby tell y'all, huh! Hehehe. Well, no hesitation to share with you whatsoever... You know, this is my work of 7 or 8 years... NO change of pace. In other words, I do what I have been doing and so be it!

If you like this, keep coming back! If not, please delete your access log so that you don't have tiny bid of resemblance of visiting this place ever. Hahaha! Trust me, I have countered so many people who could be classified into both categories. No surprise. I just do what I like to do without rendering others feel hurt.

It is not so easy to recant my way of action... Is yours?!

Work goes fine for the day.

At 7:30pm, Boss Miura and all 3 of us, his boys, are up to the TV in dining room. Since NHK - national channel airs a program with focus on those corporations pay tremendous amount of attentions to their shareholders. Include my work, NIFCO, Inc. Interesting, huh.

The content of program is strictly over stake holder issue. Yeah, CEO and some other top executive show up on TV briefly... though, that is it. Hahaha. No fun!

Well, two more days to go. Friday is for big cash?! Summer bonus. Amount? Unknown yet.

June 28, 2005 =Hottest

The term "HOT" is applicable not only to women in my favorite way, but also to the climate. The truth is latter. Today's case, there is no attractive women with sexy outfit found.

This summer is going to be the killing summer!!! Oh boy, I have to stay cool!!!

Work is not piled much. I intend to and work to solve those concerns... I guess, things look well toward the end of week. Tomorrow is still Wednesday... hopefully remaining of the week goes smoothly as possible.

American Express is also victimized from illegal usage because of recent leak of information at subcontractor in US. VISA, Diners, and Master had declared of their damages... today at last, Amex comes to its opening of such information.

Well, hope not mine at all! For sure thing, I always carefully go over the statement that is mailed to me monthly. Plus, I check online statement time to time. That's extra caution that I can afford.

Great come-back of Nikkei for today; this move makes lots of investors stay in confident for upward trend. Are you sure that it is still up to move so favorably? For me, it gives me a doubt. Up to 11,800 level, it can be possible. Though, I speculate that it get pushed down to 10,800 level by return. Today's end: 11,153.83 (up almost 100 from previous session).

Reluctant to 12,000 level that everyone sees this in favor? It is difficult under current circumstance in my opinion.

Tonight after work, I make the clinic for treatment. Results to make me feel better?! Well, tough to say today. I guess, am tired due to lack of sleep... I feel some pain in my shoulders and around neck. Yeah, I do. I intend to go every other day... until healing completely.

IKEA opens in Atlanta area on June 29th?! Man, finally! I really wish that it would have been way before like time I was there... TOO BAD! TOO LATE! <BANG!

23:30

June 27, 2005 =Tired

Never expect that scheduled meeting in the afternoon would last that long and would become so energy-depleting. After all, I am exhausted and ready for weekend <BANG!

First time I eat dish in "Katsuya" restaurant. It is my lunch then... right before that mentioned meeting. What does that restaurant serve?! Well, deep-fried pork base foods. Sort Japanese fast food. Taste? Yeah, pretty good. Though, I will not go so often since I look for healthy food <BANG!

I am then with coworker Kinoshita and Boss Miura.

Wow, who can afford such big price for crude?! More than 60 dollars per barrel? Wow. Very pricey.

Maybe because of that crude crazy price, Japan's Nikkei figure gets plunge for today's session. Do you suffer from that result?

Still no call has been made for me yet. Of new glasses that the order has been placed for. Yeah, I patiently wait. The other day, MoonFlower asks me whether to wait for long. Sure, I have no doubt. Will stay waiting.

Perhaps perfect moment to reconsider of this purchase since this is big cash to go upon that new pair of glasses? Never!

Very hot and humid tonight. Not yet turn on AC at this moment. Will go without it.

23:59

June 26, 2005 =Humid

Not much to happen.

Hot - cannot stand. Humidity worsens the things around. I have no choice but turn the AC for comfort. Otherwise, I were dead white swine! You know, I could stink! Hehehe.

Oh, never miss. Get cure in this morning. Longer than yesterday session. Different (additional) procedure. Yeah, I can tell the difference among day before seeing orthopedic, first cure, and today. Day by day, I have less problem in my shoulders, back, and lower back.

Wonderful. Just hectic to make schedule to show up to the clinic <BANG!

I should've gone to Yodobashi to get new battery for my digital camera today - before a trip next weekend. Hmmm.

Somehow, I gain a little... I should watch what I eat... not in each meal... but between meals!

0:30+1

June 25, 2005 =Best for the Year?

Could be the best movie for this year... I laugh hard. Cool movie. Well, neither Tom Cruise's "War of the Worlds" nor everyone-waits-to-see "Star Wars Episode III."

"Hitch" (was in theater back in February-March period in US)

Out of not much great expectation, great surprise (good one) comes from the movie called "Hitch."

Don't laugh and smile this much while in movie since "School of Rock." Yeah... I will place an order to keep DVD copy of this movie to my shelf.

You might think that I forgo the treatment at the clinic even though yesterday I mention it as high priority. Well, not so fast. I make it. Even before such entertainment. You know me!!! If I say do, I DO!!!

Get up around 8am and hit the way to the clinic. Treatment lasts for an hour. Great to receive such curing process! I am impressed and, at the same time, hold some thought how come I haven't relied on professional help like that. Sort regret.

Then, drop five shirts and several pants at the usual dry cleaner. Then drive on to cafe for breakfast.

While having my first coffee and bread for the day, E-mail communication with MoonFlower is complete. We decide to see each other so that we can see movie.

Yeah, so we come to great laughter together. I don't know what kind of movie you like... My relish fits in this kind of movie for sure. So does MoonFlower's (somehow <BANG!).

Good day.

0:20+1

June 24, 2005 =Paid

Miss a chance of going to the clinic for the treatment. Oh boy! What a start (of weekend)! Work doesn't cone to an end what I want it to come. Unfortunate. That is the reason that I don't make the clinic. Well surely, I will get the treatment tomorrow, first thing. Spontaneously, the clinic-going is now top priority. Without it, I don't feel like any other activity can take place.

Good thinking, huh!

Up to last minute (last half hour to be precise), everything is smooth and seems to have perfect ending so that I can be happy camper toward the clinic to bring all my neck bones straight for less pain. The story isn't that flat as I hope then and now.

There is a small gathering among product designers upstairs and single phone call kicks in for my participation. Hence I have to make an immediate show to that site and I talk for a while as my explanation describing the situation of some business. I guess, I handle that occasion well... better than I initially thought. Hahaha.

At least, we all put some way to go for solution.

Well, clinic appointment is waived; meanwhile, hair cut appointment remains at 9pm. Don't have any problem for it.

Cut my hair SHORT this time?! So many people has mentioned that I should do something with long hair. In fact, I never have this long ever before in my life! Too bad that I don't cut MUCH for summer even though we are in so dried rainy season.

Thanks! Finally get paid! Ready to spend! <BANG

23:44+2

June 23, 2005 =Not So Good

Cut the work short for today. Rush into nearby clinic... orthopedic. Remember that I have swollen finger?! This annoys on and off for almost a month or even longer. Today, I find a timing to let myself direct to the treatment. At least, cause finding.

Soon as meeting a doctor, he asks so many questions that I have to respond:

"What did you do with your pointing finger?"
"Well, nothing. Just suddenly swelled. On and off, this annoys much."
"Do you work on computer?!"
"Yes, I do, Doc."
"Do you have your homepage?"
"Yes, sir." <BANG!

Hahaha, not exactly. Then I get X-rayed. Neck and lower back from several different directions.

As Doc diagnoses those digital images shown on computer screen, he tells me:

I have been suffered from straight neck (bones are supposed NOT to be straight).
This is typical for women. No way to fix because this has been how the bones got set.

However, I can reduce the burden to my neck by building muscle on back so that such muscle can support the neck more. Plus, I have to do the stretch everyday! Wow.

Lower back is similar to the neck case. It is not perfectly hernia yet. It may develop so... unless no treatment ever takes place.

Well from tomorrow on, I have to come to the same place for treatment. I will get healed soon. Oh plus, I get a series of prescribed medicine to ease my tense. Sort of tranquilizer?

Good night.

0:19+1

June 22, 2005 =Confusing?

Hey, I never intend to argue with coworkers through email messages... However, my communication with other personnel over single message really confuses some others who are copied in.

Not my intension. I even receive a call to my personal cell phone from one who saw and lost clue what to do in the communication. Oh boy, I should've been more cautious and maybe I may need to take further action to bring all efforts together.

For this afternoon, one meeting is scheduled and cancelled. So I have no plan to get out of office at all.

Did you read an article in today's USA TODAY? The title is "Portion distortion." That catches my attention. It talks about the size of different products under same scales such as small, medium, and/or large.

Oh, we don't forget that there is one exceeding all three... SUPERSIZE, right?! Hahaha.

I just printed it out to read later. Probably tomorrow. Will take it with me to work and read over lunch time.

Not much appetite. Eat some rice with pork dish for supper. Gee, I ate an doughnut right before leaving the office. There was some leftovers. Not from "Dunkin' Donuts" but from "Mister Donuts."

Two more days to go in order to rest and one more day to go for cash! Yeah, money is really scarce at this moment (as you know) and time is ticking... I barely last myself under such condition till then. Month to month, this cynical cycle seems ever lasting (and it is so) !!! How come?!

June 21, 2005 =Big Contract

Yeah, I just make a deal... a long contract with reasonable pricing. Good deal?! Well, I believe so. For what?! My car. I decide to keep it for a little bit longer than planned. Good deal? Yeah, great deal.

Today's work is classified as cleaning day. Well, I don't literally clean around my desk. Rather, I clean lots of paperwork. Since it is quite piled due to different priorities, I let so many things remain behind so that I could deal with things in need or urgency.

Today, all remaining things are to be taken care. Take care of so many drawings that I have to examine, write up sales reports and claim monthly sales figure to be counted in by company, and project the prospective sales figures in short as well as long term.

Then, I come to mull for a while... FIGURES aren't as impressive as those I hope to be. In fact, most of them are quite on downhill. My fault?

Meanwhile, I limit myself to be available to customers. Plus, they don't call me... much. Hahaha.

Tonight, I turn TV on around 11pm. Yeah, I am quite used to do this at this time of day. I often come home around 8pm through 9pm under current pattern of my work. Then, listen to the music out of iTune software on my PowerBook... or read newspaper.

Oh, I should ask one of coworkers to grab tomorrow's Japan Times... let me hit a button to send out such request right away! For now, I don't buy that English newspaper everyday. Though, time to time like twice a week, I buy and read such information gazette.

Surely, I check more over Internet from USA Today to Atlanta Constitution Journal. Hehehe.

Get up around 6:40am. What time did I go to bed last night? Around 1-ish. It means my sleep was of five and a half hours or so? Yeah...

23:50

June 20, 2005 =No Money?

I guess, I encounter the most typical situation that describes of my current financial situation. In this afternoon, I show up to customer for a meeting that takes from 2:30pm though 4pm. Then on the way back to the office, I make a brief stop at a shop where the ATM of my bank is located.

Well, I check the balance... and I find that there is a shortage... I mean that the balance is way below my expectation. You know, I don't have my balance record with me at that time. However, I expected that there would be some 100 or even 200 dollars in the account before coming to that ATM for me to make a withdrawal.

Way below the 100 dollar level remaining then. <BANG! Out of luck.

Hence, I have to last with whatever much left in my pocket. No more and no less. In other words, I have to watch out every single penny to spend so that I can make sure that I survive through until very next pay day - coming Friday!

Of the meeting - actually have two different meetings in the same afternoon in the same place. First one is of discussion to determine the specifications of a product. Following one is about the current status of some product.

The first meeting gives me some headache that I have to seek the solution to make customer feel confident to deal with me for this new business. While, the second half creates an ambivalence between end of customer and one of mine. Those ends are far from each other. Customer obviously do not have answers to my questions.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!! Hahaha.

Anyway, I do what I need to do for today.

Shop called "Cradle" calls me up for information. Sort bad and disappointing news. The model of glasses that I particularly ask for is out of stock everywhere... including the wholesaler in Paris. So I have to wait. It's a truly back order. Too bad.

23:59

June 19, 2005 =Begins All Over?

Because it is going to be a large hemorrhage of my limited case... the purchase of Alain Mikli glasses. Of which I made a report to you yesterday.

In other words, saving begins and I have to draw the limitation of my weekend activity that requires cash. Therefore, I have to make a perfect example soon like today!

Get up later than I previously wanted. I keep failing, don't I?! 9am, I turned my car's engine on and rush to the cafe for breakfast. No newspaper is available in shelves. Well, the place is moderately full. I guess those who prefer newspaper to magazines are there before me and this turns out that I have no newspaper to read while having breakfast.

No particular things to do while the sun is up... Oops, sun is actually blocked by clouds. Yep, it is cloudy.

By the time the end of day is coming up, I start making a move. Hahaha. This weekend's opening - Batman Begins is the main event for the day. 6:30pm start. Long movie, isn't it? Yeah, it is. Ends around 9pm.

I have seen all predecessors like Batman, Returns, Robin... or whatever. Oh, don't get a chance to see "Catwoman" played by Halle Berry, though.

This movie in particular - Batman Begins - tells all of Batman from the origin with more decent reality. If you get glued to the original comic, it may appear boring. To me, it is okay. Still lacks a little excitement because Batman is more human-like. What happens Bat Mobile? Not developed yet?

I guess, this movie reflects the track of the character from the comic series... Good to see, though. I give, a B-minus.

Chocolate cake... baked by MoonFlower for whom?
At least it is never meant for me.

Truly, I am never going to eat this... Just wonder for whom she bakes something like this.

Don't you?

23:57

June 18, 2005 =Place an Order?

Yeah, it's about time, isn't it?! Well, I don't even have a reference number in hand, I surely ask personnel of the shop called "Cradle" in Aoyama to order A0454-06 from the supplier so that I can take a look upon my very next visit.

Oh yep, am talking about my NEW glasses!

This pair of glasses by my favorite French craft Alain Mikli is brand new line called "PACT." All the line is of contrast of black and not white but transparent just like you see above picture. Isn't that cool?

Well, don't know how long that shop would take to get one pair for me... It could be weeks! Let's hope not so long.

Man, I have to expect to take big cash out of my pocket - ONCE AGAIN!

0:31+1

June 17, 2005 =

Lots of paper work for today. Well, I previously did expect that this day would turn out to be tough and rough. Well, expectation does easily become truth. No surpise. Lots of pressure?! To be honest with you, I do things as much as I can for today and I feel good about it.

Practically, I could hinder part of the job to following week. In my initial thought, it was okay to complete all by the end of Monday. However, I maintain my energy to last all the way to the night.

At 9pm, I complete all paper work from purchasing order, drawing requests, and whole control plan sheet. Heck of work, isn't it? Well, it is over and I have peace of a weekend! So do you!

0:45+2

June 16, 2005 =Long Drive

Literally I fall to a sleep while being behind the wheel! Yeah, while giving a ride to two coworkers... Man, I almost jeopardize not only my life but also ones of two others.

Lack of sleep last night is definitely the cause and, yes, I do regret.

I feel very CRANKY for this particular business day! Things keep coming to me are so unfavorable and I have to say that I am quite fed up with what I all have for now! Definitely, all such incidents are due to my fault and as far as I believe, I have put all possible efforts together to straighten the things toward the respective goals for each assignment.

Those around myself who know what I have done are not really criticizing me on current circumstance. I guess, that's only the positive aspect of the reality at this point. Other than that, all are very messy.

Tomorrow, it is crucible and yet crucial to determine where we can go from here on. Wish me luck.

Because of such condition that I encounter, I lost much appetite. Ready to lose even more weight! Hahaha. Anyhow, sure, I am fine! A little depressed with the difficulty and uncertainty of work. Are you sympathetic for me?!

No breakfast. Curry over rice for lunch. A little bit spicy as I order. Very little to eat for supper since it is late. You know, usually I limit the volume of foods to eat for supper when time passes 10 o'clock at night. It is my belief that whatever eat after 10pm does not give much to my health and weight. Therefore, I eat a little for the supper which is taken after 10pm.

Lots of rain. Typical rainy season day.

0:10+1

June 15, 2005 =Not Perfect

Who tells you that Destiny's Child is going to fall out?

0:11+2

June 14, 2005 =Busy But Productive

One phone call in this morning makes single day a whole different. Customer urgently calls in and lets me know of sudden decision made by his supervising management. Surely, that decision just come out is somewhat unconventional... at least it appears so to me.

It's money issue and we alter entire plan and need time to tailor the schedule and cost. It takes me quite time to settle the plan and its action to get along with such decision brought in. Too unfortunate. I tell Boss Miura of the incident and he is, no doubt, surprised with the bad news.

I guess, next couple of days are going to messy since low visibility of required action plans for the same project.

11am, meeting with sales person of the supplier
2pm, meeting with my customer visiting our facility (until 5:30pm)
5:30pm, meeting for new product (until 7pm)

Wrap it all up for the day at 8:40pm.

Just find new thing...

"pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis" - do you know of this WORD?

To me, this is the longest word in this whole world! Certainly, I try to memorize it... though, that effort is vain! Hahaha. Lack of memory and I required to be "upgraded." Pentium M, maybe? Hahaha.

Yep, no longer PowerPC chip (that is currently used for Macintosh - soon to be banished from the Apple lineup).

Are you going to see "Batman Begins?" Just see the trailer and it's pretty darn cool! I won't miss it.

0:40+1

June 13, 2005 =Still Going

Still going... Yep, I keep drinking. It is 201st day and so what?! Well, I keep doing this as my habit. "Still going and going..." like DURACELL. Hahaha.

New week starts. Good start?! Well, somewhat onerous. While some coworker covered my butt since I did a little boo-boo in unfamiliar area of business, I encounter another difficulty. For that, I have no answer within today's working session. Probably (hopefully?) tomorrow.

Oh THAT boo-boo implicated so many coworkers and I am so grateful that this nightmare is finally over! Money is paid and no loss really occurs. At the end, everyone can smile at each other. For me, it is great relief.

As a matter of fact, this boo-boo is something that I have created. I just take over some account in the middle of process which doesn't come from right direction and still tends to go toward wrong end. I then try to fix many things to bring that business back on (right) track. Yeah, I intend so even with such limited expertise.

Well like I say, the nightmare is over.

I have stomach upset right before lunch and I decide to skip a meal. Yeah, I forgo foods and finish work around 9pm. Certainly, this is a long day. Do I feel better? Somewhat. Don't know what I have eaten to feel so bad. Don't think that I am over eaten at any given time.

Because I am still cautious about what to eat in order not to recur stomach problem, I eat so lightly for supper. Just soup. Healthy! Wow. I may start feeling that I am so starving. Hahaha.

0:10+1

June 12, 2005 =200th

Has my health measure gone up? NOT quite sure. Though, I can say at least that I can do things that I deeply committed myself. For instance, I decided to keep drinking this special tea drink - one bottle a day for 90 days straight.

It is not onerous at all and I easily do that everyday until today. This is 200th day from the start. Long way, but accomplish!

Other than this record to share with you, I have nothing to tell about today. Some argument over the phone occurred because of yesterday's quarrel. I guess I am quite disguised and the talk really obliterates all plans that I had for today.

Anyway, I keep drinking this particular brand for a little bit longer.

23:50

June 11, 2005 =Don Quixote

Today's event is something that I have been very looking forward to. It is renowned musical by Koshiro Matsumoto:

"Man of La Mancha" - story of Don Quixote.

Admission is expensive at 120 dollars or so and tough to get one. Yeah, MoonFlower and I are merely lucky. Koshiro is actually father of Takako Matsu - the actress whom I saw in the musical back in February or so. Well, she is one of supporting actors in this play as well. Surely, father and daughter of a family comes to an effort to establish a big publicity... they do!

For your information, Koshiro Matsumoro is KABUKI actor; even though he plays in modern production like this. He shows in TV drama time to time.

Great play. Great music. Most recommended. Well, tickets are mostly sold out at this point of time. If you get a chance, don't press your luck!

In the afternoon - after the entertainment, I almost buy a "PACT" glasses of Alain Mikli... Yep, ALMOST. Then, some disaster kicks in. Out of control. Indeed a "QUARREL." Doesn't come to an end of it today.

23:40+1

June 10, 2005 =Most Supportive

Today's English paper called Japan Times has interesting issue... on page 13 - "Revalued yuan won't fix global trade imbalances" - Wow, do you care about yuan?! Hell no at this point.

Let's start it over. I go wrong page then.

Page 7 - "Today's 'girly men' are tomorrow's macho men: seminar" is very intersting and you should've read it.

The idea supports someone like this person:

ME! (a shoot from March)

Quote - "We are watching the birth of a hybrid man... Why not put on a pink-flowered shirt and try out a partner-swapping club?" - Unquote.

Don't join such club at all; however, I can turn peope's say "hidious" to be positive impact... RIGHT?! Reckon so!

Work? Simply work and it's all done for weekend.

23:10

June 9, 2005 =Ready for Weekend

In my personal English dictionary, I come to find my weakness in vocabulary... under words starting letter "S." Such words are followings:

scribe, sublime, shoal, slumber, swine, shingle, swerve, sapling, stark, swoop, slander, stalwart, scalp, and stun.

They are those that I could define the meaning instantly. Poor vocabulary, huh! I know, I still have to put my all efforts together to memorize them all.

Today's Tak... early start. Well, not precisely. Though, surely I don't sit at my desk in this morning much. Being followed by those two male trainees, I have to hit the road to customer's site for urgent hand carry of some item. I expect to have a little meeting with a fellow waiting for the item.

Hour and a half drive with full of conversation. Various topics to cover with those freshmen in the car.

Finally at the site of customer, my expectation becomes nothing quickly. The person coming to get the stuff in my hand just pick the thing up and leaves right away. For that gentleman, no intention to converse with me has he. Hmmm. It could be valuable live-meeting for those new faces... though, turns out to be in vain at all! Oh boy!

Not upset but rather disappointed.

Make another stop at another customer's place for where coworker Kinoshita has meeting and drop young guys there for the meeting. I take off to another location of my customer to submit some paper work.

Yeah, I drive around quite bit for today! Hahaha.

0:05+1

June 8, 2005 =Make World Cup!

Now everyone must be happy with the tonight's result. Tonight Japan secures the ticket to the Germany for World Cup. 1st winner of such ticket in the world... so I hear.

It's our third appearance in the World Cup after 1st in France and 2nd, in Japan / Korea.

Game result is that Japan beats North Korea, 2-0.

I briefly see the game on TV. The game starts around 7:30pm and I come home a little after that. Surely, I turn the TV on right away.

At work, I come to some trouble. Well, I cause it! I previously thought that it was the best way to deal with a situation and I never thought that the situation would turn to be inclement. Well today, it does and now circumstance is a little tough to overcome. Well, I certainly seek out a solution and stay close contact with customer for update which changes time to time.

Later today, things ease a little more than I previously expected. Plus, I obtain the mutual agreement with customer for such unfortunate condition (even though this mischief is cause partly by my mis-judgement).

While, long meeting takes place in the morning... right before that disastrous situation develops. I am there nothing more than merely observer or supervisor. Though, many of members keep asking me for opinions. Hence, I eventually stand up for my say. It is cool and smart remark I make. Good deal. I guess, that is a good side of the day!

(Like I said, bad side follows... Hmmm.)

Spend more than 1,000 yen for today! Man, miscalculation!!! In convenience store "sevel-eleven," I grab two bottles of drinks and some food for supper and tomorrow's breakfast. At cashier, I find that the sum of my shopping exceeds my today's limitation. TOO DARN LATE.

Well, I will save some tomorrow to balance it all out! Hehehe.

0:31+1

June 7, 2005 =Everything New?

Yeah, told you about two new faces for training this week. Those new guys bring up new experience to me. Today, I just come to an opportunity that I give some brief lesson about how to write up some internal document. I, before doing so, checked with those two fellows whether they had previously had a lesson on the same document. It must have been the first time for them to grasp a little essence of work along with that particular piece of paper.

(one fellow) Not a yawn... but a stretch... TWICE while I am talking to them.

I guess that my lecture is quite boring and there must have been nothing to learn from the opportunity. I feel not upset but extremely sorry for such unfortunate situation.

However at the same time, there must have been a little disrespect... which annoys me a little.

Oh, not both... just one of those men did such thing to me. Not once, but TWICE (yeah, I said so already).

Let's change subject.

Apple now and finally announces that it will bring Intel base Macintosh. Yeah, Apple takes Intel chip, while it dumps IBM's PowerPC architecture. What do you think? Totally up for it? Somewhat against it?!

For me, this is really the way for Apple to manage its very next strategy. Almost everyone knows that IBM chip cannot accommodated for laptop computer due to the heat issue of the chip.

This announced move is to complete by 2006? Nope. Apple begins to use Intel chip in 2006 and completes the transition from IBM to Intel by the end of 2007.

Well, there is a question remaining here. Is my current PowerBook going to be last IBM chip based computer in my possession? Or maybe ONE LAST? <BANG!

June 6, 2005 =Age vs. Exp

Since I play baseball, I consider the communication a play-catch. Depending on the skill level of your partner, you adjust your pitch against that fellow. From doing so, both your partner and you can decide whether start making a hard throw or not. That's, in my belief, the way how a communication can develop between persons of two. Right?!

Today, I come to exercise exactly what I just mention.

There are two new comers to my department for training which lasts for a week.

In the mid-afternoon, I engage a "play-catch" with them since I have some hand work to do for today. While working by hands, I initiated a little conversation to see how those two youngsters can engage the talk with me. They are around 6-7 years younger than me. Well, it is awkward conversation... at least appears to me. Maybe they are either so intimidated by the (tight?) atomosphere or uncomfortable to talk to me.

I don't want to conclude any personality aspect of those young men from this; however, I can tell that I would have been totally different since I would have paid least respect. Maybe, I am kind person whom they have difficulty to converse?

Age difference shouldn't be the issue. Experience wise, it is problematic!? Don't think so- Well. There are plenty of time to see and conclude whether the first impression just received is accurate, wrong, or even biased.

Tight budget for this month. Pay 150 yen for Japan Times (English newspaper), 350 yen for drinks and tomorrow's breakfast, and 480 yen for supper tonight. 980 yen for today. Good job!

June 5, 2005 =No Movie!

Hello there! It's me, Tak - the crazy man that you cannot find anyone else so alike. Yeah, call me kinky! Hehehe.

It is me to be called lazy boy today. Get up later than usual and planned. Since no plans for today, nothing really bothers and I procrastinate myself to get out of futon bed so early. So I miss breakfast?! Not so fast.

I make a stop at nearby coffee - located just around the corner and order coffee and hog dog. Good enough. Bring a magazine with me to that place; hence I spend one hour reading it while having breakfast.

Thinking about going to see a movie this afternoon... though, I miss it. Which movie?! Well, actually undecided. Hahaha.

Oh gee. Forget to go to bookstore. I wanted to get some stationary. Some notebook and file cover. I guess, something this week, I spare time for a little shopping.

How's your weekend?!

June 4, 2005 =Work?

Oh god! Thank you so much for your help us to move forward. Yeah, now we can barely see to hold the ticket to Germany for very next world cup championship.

1-0, Japan edges Bahrain.

Did I see that game on TV? Nope! <BANG. It is 1:30am kick off since it is AWAY game for Japan. I surely supported as much as I could... while dreaming <BANG! At last, my wish goes through to be true! Hehehe.

Since no routine work yesterday, I decide to go in to work this morning. Get up around 6:30am and stop over the usual cafe for breakfast and coffee. Then, come to my work desk around 10am.

Check E-mail and messages left on my desk. I find other people in Procurement department have come to work before me. No one else in my department shows while I am at my desk.

Spend just entirely around the clock. Not too long and not too short, I guess. Things that had been unsolved are taken care. Feel good about it.

Then come home... everything back to normal. Bored and lazy! Hehehe.

Lots of rain in late afternoon!!!

June 3, 2005 =Flores

Yeah, it is ME having sent flowers to her work place for newly-wed Atsuko. Remember that I told you that she recently married? Oops, I may have NOT mentioned that in English version since no one is really familiar with her at all. Anyway, she is my ex-coworker and good friend of mine.

I would like to send something to her to congratulate... however, I couldn't reach to anything suited to such occasion besides flowers. So I ordered flowers to be sent.

Today, delivery is made and, surely, Atsuko let me know how much surprised she was when receiving the bouquet. Sure, without vase. It took me quite while to decide whether flowers should go with or without vase.

Chose bouquet style at the end.

Oh for work. I showed up in Tokyo office for a meeting that lasted for entire afternoon. In other words, I have no other work at all for today. Mean, I am quite behind... right? (Presume so!) Well, now weekend is to begin!

Big soccer night tonight! Road to Germany for the world cup!

On last day of sale, I get a pack of "Summer Dream Jumbo" lotery tickets. Wish me luck for millons of yen!

June 2, 2005 =Stay Quiet?

Yeah, it is "UPSSCSJ" - however, it is definitely TOO long to spell for those who are unfamiliar with the industry in which UPS-SCS-J is. In other words, every time its employee asks for receipt, upon business-related spending, he or she is surely asked to repeat the entire spell of the short name!

What am I talking about? See yesterday's update.

For me, it may require five times to remember all seven letters in right order <BANG!

Rainy... all day long and I have to drive for several hours through rain. I remember that I drove at up to 100 km/h constantly. Exceed a little over the speed limit because it is the limit of 80. Boy!

Good business day?! Somewhat okay. NO big trouble. I guess I can classify it as peaceful.

Tonight, I take a little hard way for myself. Sort skip the supper. Means that I am kind hungry. In fact, I have a snack at work right before my leave for the day. The reason that I do this is in purpose of getting up early tomorrow morning. For last few days, I tried to get up around 6am. I miserably failed. I rather got up around 6:30am. Taking shower and getting dressed... take time up to 7am or so. I want entire thing of morning preparation move up by 30 minutes.

I like to start things early to hold a little spare time to enjoy time in the morning. Well, this may sounds crazy to you... though, that is my intention. See how this works tomorrow morning. I hope I can wake up early because of emptiness.

June 1, 2005 =For Whom?

You can see, on left, that I recently received this new handkerchief as gift from MoonFlower. Though, this item is not newly bought for me. Why?! Let you think for 2 minutes...

Well, the answer is that she bought for someone special, other than me. Precisely, she had gotten this for a long time since it is meant to give her ex-boyfriend!

WOW! Do I accept this without objection?! Sure! I have no problem since I keep this as new and mint from now on so that she can give this to new boyfriend AFTER ME! <BANG!

Today - new month beings. Oops, new name for a company. USFS - I always write so, inferring to UPS Suzuyo Freight Services where I used to work for three years. Now - from today, it is called UPS Supply Chain Solutions Japan, Inc. I should ask current employee of that company how people at that company abbreviate that new name.

Please let me know if you're the one and reading this!

Update: Tak's Resolutions 2005

Keep the weight at 149-150lbs
68.5kg = 151.2lb
Some new accomplishment to add to my profile
TOEIC 945
ZERO accident (cont'd)
ZERO
One flight (round-trip) to somewhere for pleasure
not yet
Go to one theater performance
done!
Watch 23 movies
9 (pace down)
Go to 2 (pro) baseball games
---
Present for myself ("gadget" - maybe?)
"iPod Shuffle"
Buy 5 or more DVD discs
4
"Healthya" drinks for 90 days (3 months)
189

not yet

Concern? No ball games to go yet. Another, the pace of going to movies is obviously down. I should see several movies every month. Good change is that "new accomplishment" column is now filled with the record of English test called TOEIC. Pretty good!

"COOL BIZ" is the key word in the governmental campaign for less energy consumption during this summer. Well, what the government tries to do is to make people get dressed down so that they can set the AC at lower temperature.

Getting dressed down is precisely no-tie-no-jacket attire. Wait, am I going to do that, too?! Well, don't have such semiformal shirts (half-sleeves) for work. Cannot afford any, either!

Hotter than any recent day? Well, I guess it is... however, don't know since I stay in... "STAY COOL." <BANG!
